Slideout problems

Just returned from a trip and when we tried to open the slideout (includes kitchen area and tv area) it caught on something and pulled a cabinet away from the wall (countertop is pulled away) and some of the trim. We stopped right away and then pulled it back in. Took it in to the dealer and no word back yet on what happened--but the maintenance folks said slideout problems were uncommon. Anyone have any insight? It appears a little shifted now (I can see a little daylight by the rear bottom corner of the slideout) but seems to be in the correct position when looking from the outside. THanks.

Bill, sometimes, cabinet doors come open while traveling and if not caught, they can catch on the face trim of the slide out. Any cabinet door near the slide out needs to be secured with a bungee ball or some other method. A lot depends on the model of trailer you have.

Always a good idea to take a second look inside before moving the slides, either in or out. Been down that road myself. Fortunately, I was able to repair the snapped cabinet door without too much difficulty.
