Will those tires work in place of 235/85 r16 without replacing rims?

I would not have any heartburn doing it, but you must keep in mind that the OEM rim is 6 inches and the rim spec for the tire is 7-8.5 (guessing), what this does is narrow the section profile. but does not alter the diameter of the tire. BAsicly if a firestone dealer will mount it, you will be ok, dealers have more specific information about tires and they usually won't violate any rules. But hey you can improve your rig with the HiSpec rims and the tires, then sell your old ones and walk away with about $600 net out of pocket. You cant beat that.

I have been looking for tires for my gateway, i blew a tow max on the way home this first trip of the season, i was supposed to have new rubber when i picked the rv up from the dealership but was told the Sailun tires were on backorder. I have been looking at tires for a while now and doing a lot of research.
From what i can find out, Sailun tires are made by Saig, probably spelled wrong, anyway they are impossible to find locally, so looking at other alternatives, the firestones mentioned are a 10 ply like the tow max and the speed rating is for a tow vehicle, not a trailer......there are several 14 ply tires out there, most have decent reviews however almost every one has at least one failure posted, tread seperation ect....so none are perfect by any means, if i had the extra cash i would just step up.and buy a set of goodyears and change wheels but its difficult to justify that kind of money to me.
I have a couple of big tire chain stores to go to, Discount tire which sells a Vision 14 ply tire, 3750 at 110 psi, 160.00 each, Les Schwab had a brand i can't remember the name of but was a 14 ply, 3950 at 110, and a local store Jacks tire and oil had a 14 ply, 4005 lb at 105psi, again i forget the name but all are st rated so from what i can understand means special tire with a 65mph rateing, but i was told the Vision was rated for 87mph even though it is an st, so manufactures must change speed ratings for each tire and nothing is standard now. Anyway just my two cents on the firestone tire. If you look at the correct size or the same size as the Gateway has on it, the firestone has the same specs as the tow max tires at 80spi....

I ordered my Sailuns from simple tire online. Shipped to my door in 2 days. I've also heard that NTB has them. Do yourself a favor and get them. You won't regret it
