slider reese hitch

Ok do not want to sound dumb here but, some years ago when I bought my Elkridge fifth wheel I had a slider reese hitch installed in the 2007 Ram. Unknowing I never had to use the slider due to the front of the Elkridge and the truck bed which was alittle over 6 foot. I have recently purchased a 2015 Ram Mega Cab with the 6' 4" bed. I do not know if I will have to use the slider or not ?? But the question is on the
Reese when you unlock the slider and go to slide it to rear is there something to stop the hitch from sliding off the hitch frame and onto the bed of the truck or will I have to stop it myself?? I have never had to use it or slide it.

I'm sure the Reese has a stop built into it. My Husky did until I remover the slider and installed none slider mounts.

We have a Reese 16K slider hitch - when the slider lever is pulled out and pushed toward the cab, it stops at the end of the extension automatically.

Be sure to put the lever back in the tow position once you're parked.
