Check valve on hot water discharge was leaking! In attempt To
remove it broke off leaving plastic pvc threads in metal female connection. Metal threads badly
corroded. Is it possible to get this plastic part out or is it necessary to replace heater
It's possible but a pain. Some people have had success with a pick. Others have used a hacksaw blade, although care is required so you don't damage the water heater threads. I think someone may have used a tap.
