Surge suppressor install

Just installed a Progressive Ind. 50 AMP hardwired EMS. I removed the "pass-thru" carpeted panel for access, and cut the 50 amp cable at that point before it connected to the breaker panel. Quite a hard job to get the current sensors around the hot legs and then stuffed into the box. Unit works great. I mounted the remote readout in the "coat closet" where it's visible with the other monitor panel gages. Check my profile album for pictures of the install.

jimpav - Were did you get the unit and if you don't mind what was the cost. Been thinking about something like this myself.

Here's my order ticket. I wasn't able to find it anyplace cheaper. They really get you for the 50 AMP stuff. It's been working just great, so far. Not much to the electronics, but I guess they had to pay someone to figure it out. Just wish they gave you a little more room in the box to make the connections. The 30 AMP wire models are probably easier to install.
