Tank level gauges 3712 hd

We have had our rig for about 3 weeks and the tank level indicator gages are not reading correctly on the gray water tanks. Any suggestions for full timers would be helpful, thanks!

Hi Bigrigforus,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum. You'll find lots of useful information here (not counting the dated coax drawing). You'll also find a lot of friendly people who help one another out.

Tank level indicators are notoriously unreliable, particularly but not exclusively) the blank tank. Some people have tried various ideas, but generally I would say that most people end up ignoring the guages. You'll get a feel for how frequently to dump the tanks, or you can wait for the toilet to "burp" and then dump it.

We have the same problem only it is our black tank. We've tried putting in 1/2 gal. of bleach and some water in toilet just before leaving on the road. Also tried putting a bag of ice down the toilet before leaving. Neither worked for us. Now we ignore gauge.

OK what is a toilet "burp"?

Q. OK what is a toilet "burp"?

A. You will know it when you hear it. A little puff when you flush.
