Hello all! We are looking to swing by Taos, NM on our trek from Austin, TX to Estes Park, CO next June. Can anyone recommend a nice RV park in Taos or near Taos? We don't like cramped RV Parks where you are on top of your neighbors.

Thanks,
Chris

Hello neighbor. I have been to Taos several times but not as an RV'er. I have no doubt someone will offer some knowledge.

I checked out your photos. Very impressive. Where is your farm? It is very beautiful.

Hey Scott - nice to meet you. Thanks for the comments on the photos. I am definitely an amateur but I enjoy it. As for the farm, it is where I grew up in Willacoochee, Georgia. My brother farms it now. Beautiful place.

Wilahoochee. I had to look that one up. My only exposure to GA is Atlanta to Augusta, flying. It definitely looked too lush for central Texas. Do you live in the Austin area?

Moved on to the next thing...
Where are you staying in Estes Park?

We spent a week in August at Manor RV Park in Estes . . . and had a blast!

We stayed at the Monte Bello RV park in Taos about six years ago . . . I believe that was the first year they opened up for business.

Their website is not so great (on the photo page, click on the blank white boxes and you'll see the photos), but it is a great park to stay at!

It is about a mile west of Taos near the airport and on the same road that goes over the Rio Grand Gorge Bridge.

It was a nice park with no trees (of course, it is in the desert), but we enjoyed the week we stayed there!

Thinking about dropping in again maybe next year!

Here are some shots from the RV park and the surrounding area:

Thanks John. I had found Monte Bello but the website was horrible so I was a little wary. I like to see pictures of the place. I'll check it out again.

We always stay at Elk Meadow - it is big rig friendly and has great views of RMNP especially from the row on the far left.
