Torque FW GVWR

Hello, I am seriously considering buying a Torque 312 or a 321. I like the 321 better but I am concerned that it only has about a 2430 lb payload capacity while the 312 has 3375 lbs. I am also curious as to why the Torques have a 14000 GVWR and the similar sized Cyclones (3010) have a 15500 GVWR. Don't they both have the same 7000 lb axles and the same tires? I want a FW with a 12 foot garage, at least a 3,000 lb payload capacity and in the 11000 lb dry weight range. I see the same size RW's are 14000 GVWR also. I wonder why Heartland didn't make the mid size Torques and RW's with a 15500 lb GVWR like the Cyclone's have? I would love to buy a Cyclone 3010 if only it had a 12 ft. garage. I noticed also that the 3010 looks almost exactly like the same floor plan as the RW 305, but the 3010 has a 1500 lb larger GVWR. Anyone know why these lower price point Heartlands are only 14000 GVWR? Thanks... DB

I thought I had read somewhere that the cyclones have a higher GVWR because they account for about 1500 lb tongue weight.

I believe the GVWR info for the Torques on the Heartland website is dated.

If you check the sticker on the 2013/2014/2015 two axle Torques it list the GVWR @ 15,500 lbs.

That's great news! I thought it was strange that they weren't 15500 GVWR. Thank you very much for the info!

Do you know if the listed dry weight is accurate?

HI DB03Z06,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum. We have a great bunch of folks here with lots of information.

The dry weight on the brochures is an average empty weight. Any options, water, propane, extra TV or anything, must be added. When the unit comes off the assembly line is rolled out the door it is weighed then. A yellow weight sticker is then placed on the door frame for that unit.

DB,

I'll answer with a quote from an earlier post when I owned a 2013 Torque 321 SS...

"The sticker on my trailer list the UVW @ 11,500 lbs, when I registered it I had to take in a weight ticket and it weighed 12,250 lbs with my gear (that's the added generator, fuel station & propane full, a basement full of tables/chairs/ect and all the linens/kitchen stuff & supplies) then if your boon-docking/tailgating you need to add 800 lbs for a full tank of fresh water. So I figure my CCC is the 15,500 lbs GVWR less the 13,000 lbs for UVW+Gear+Water = 2,500 lbs CCC. Which probably not by coincidence is the Cargo Capacity of the garage."

Thanks for all the info everyone! I figured the 321 must have more payload capacity than what was stated on their website...
