Trim piece needed

I contacted Heartland.. trim piece is not available, but they have tape. I did order the tape a while ago, while trying to figure out a way to get the rest of the old off,, you can see the trim, aka sawdust, trim piece is splitting. Me, not being a woodworker of any kind. What can we do to get this back to normal?trim1.jpg

If it was me, I'd pry off that entire piece of trim from the bottom of that cabinet. Then take it to a local lumber store (Lowe's, Home Depot) and see if they have something about the same size and style you like. Cut the new trim to the same length to fit the cabinet, stain it to match, or cover it with the tape that Heartland is sending you. That old piece of trim doesn't look worth trying to fix.

If not the same, then 2 pieces would be needed one for the other side to match. or it would look goofier than I :)
