TV Issues

Recently purchase Landmark 2008 - 40' - absolutely no manuals or information on operation of anything. Trying to get TV reception off antenna - Bedroom TV works fine (although I can't figure how it get the signal from the antenna) two coax plugs by TV - one says satellite the other not marked but believe it for cable. Power booster there also. TV in living room not getting signal - dvd plays fine - two coax plugs by TV marked "satellite" one marked "cable" . I see nothing for running coax from TV to the roof antenna. Obvioiusly its somewhere - or a switch to go from cable to tv - any ideas where the antenna coax comes into the coach? Thanks in advance.

Hello Bdematta, welcome to the forum.
This is a great place with a lot of great people.
In order to get over the air signal (OTA) there are a couple of things that need to be in place.
First of all you will wan to crank the antenna up and aim it toward what you think might be the strongest signal source.
Then your signal booster will have to be on. Red light glowing.
Since you are getting a signal in the bedroom, we know that the antenna and booster are working.
Where you have two coax plugs and one is marked satellite, the non marked one will be for cable and antenna signals.
On a side note, when you are hooked up to cable the booster must be off.
So, it sounds like you night have to tell your living room TV where to look for a signal.
Go through the TV menu and look for the 'Input'. There you will look for something like 'Air' or 'Antenna'.
Most TV's have different menus so it is hards to tell what you have.
Come back and let us know how you make out.
And if you want to meet great people, have fun and eat a lot be sure to check out the AL Chapter Rally coming in April.

Peace
Dave.

Hi bdemattia,

Cable and antenna share the same coax wiring once the wires get to the signal booster. On most Landmarks (not sure about 2008), as the signal leaves the bedroom signal booster, the next stop is the basement. There's a splitter behind the wall jack. One side of the splitter feeds the basement coax connector and the other goes to the living room connector marked CABLE. It's actually for both cable and antenna. As Dave mentioned, when you're hooked up to cable, the signal booster must be OFF. When you want to watch over the air antenna, the signal booster must be on.

Btw, we have an extensive collection of manufacturers manuals along with some owner-written user and troubleshooting guides in the manuals section of the forum. You can also get there by pressing the TOOLS button at the top of the page and look for HOM - Heartland Owners Manuals, and HUG - Heartland User Guides.

If yours is like our 2007 Landmark was, there is a signal selector in the closet where all the switches are. There are several push button switches on the selector. The left side is TV1 which is the living room. The right side is TV2 which is the bedroom. The VCR is the middle switches. In order to get the TV in the living room to work the TV1 ant button needs to be pushed in and the booster needs to be turned on which is the on/off switch in the signal selector. When the booster is on the red light is on. There is no booster switch by the antenna up/down crank. The older Landmarks are totally different than the current ones. In order to get the bedroom TV to work the TV2 switch should be pushed in on the TV switch. The Bedroom TV switch controls the basement coax connection.
