I want to thank Bill Knight (wdk450) for posting his Lippert landing gear rebuild adventure at this closed post: //heartlandowners.org/showthread.php/26966-Lessons-Learned-On-Venture-Landing-Gear

I had searched the web for quite a while and was grateful to find this info. I have a couple of updates on where to get parts. First, Lippert still sells the rebuild kit for $85 (plus shipping) at their home site of http://store.lci1.com/categories.aspx?Keyword=146060 It's expensive..but cheaper than a new leg.

The bearings RB/SKF 603-V described don't seem to be manufactured anymore by SKF but I found a suitable substitute by Nice (USA) model 603. I just contacted a local industrial store and they got 'em in for less than $4 a piece. They need to greased so...don't forget.

Again, thanks for the 2011 post, the fifth wheel's landing gear is fully operational.

Thanks for the acknowledgement! Somehow I remember that thrust bearing I used being sealed (no grease could be added), but that may be a faulty memory.

I am again rebuilding my landing gear after a 2nd failure and the result of not releasing the stabilizer bars on the DS. The parts for the rebuild at at http://www.myrvpartsplace.com Part numbers VM999-00 and VM999-01 are the kit for my rebuild and cost $50.00 each plus shipping. The gentleman that answers the phone is extremely helpful and ships my order today.

Off I go to rebuild....
