Re: Urine smell coming from floor heater vents
Franco - Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum!
Sorry to hear about your issue. Several members are likely to chime in here soon with ideas for you. Ahead of that, can you please do this:
- Open your storage bay doors, one side at a time and take in a big whiff? Do you smell it there?
- Consider taking down the utility/bulkhead wall that separates the storage bay and utility area (water heater, water pump, furnace etc).
- Using a flashlight and your nose, what do you see/smell there?
The furnace uses some interior area to heat and push out the vents. That air can also come from the underbelly area as it is not sealed off from the utility area. Therefore the furnace draws air in from there as well. IF you have a waste water system leak, it's likely below the floor in the underbelly area. If any effluent is leaking into the underbelly, it's conceivable you are drawing that odor into the furnace system
Finally, do you see any evidence of mice? Just asking...
