We have an 2009 BIGHORN 3410RE I would like to use a portable generator, do I need to buy a regulator OR is there one built in our unit?

The Honda I use is the inventor model, so it outputs "clean power".
So to answer your question, no, I am not using a surge protector.
I don't have my new trailer yet, but one of the first upgrades I will do is adding a battery backup for the TV and sound system.
I have a Cyclone ordered with a built in generator. Using a battery back up ($100 from Costco) will solve any brown or blackouts and any surges for sensitive electronics.
It will also be where we plug in the laptops for charging.
