Water Heater - Electric Heating Element

I believe I burned out my heating element by not having water in the tank. Oops. I have a 2015 Gateway Bunkhouse. Does anyone know what kind of heating element I need? Unfortunately I'm not by the camper to get number and was hoping someone would know. Thanks for the help

Hi Pdecrescenzo,

Welcome to the Heartland Owners Forum. Sorry to hear about your water heater. Heartland uses both Suburban Water Heaters and Atwood Water Heaters in there manufacturing. Without knowing which you have, even another Gateway owner may not be able to give you the right part number.

You might need to call Heartland Customer Service at 877-262-8032 / 574-262-8030. Have your VIN # ready. They should be able to tell you which water heater your unit has. You probably also need the capacity, and if they have it, the model #.

You can purchase a new element at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.. It is a 750 watt element for about $10.
