Thanks Tiger,
Rust-oleum black satin finish.
Removed all the road debris and the washed with mineral spirits. Sprayed the rust-oleum on with the mineral spirits still wet. Bonds very nice.

Not just today, but over the past month:
1. Replaced front AC shroud.
2. Replaced bathroom vent cover (the OEM cover, not the MaxAire)
3. Repaired and cleaned Fantastic Fan (a wire was loose) - Repaired Fantastic Fan MaxAire cover (bolt on easy open flip cover was stripped)
4. Greased all Suspension Wet Bolts (CRE3000)
5. Corrected "flipped" shackle on front axel to CRE3000 link (both sides of RV)
6. Removed OEM pneumatic cargo door lifts. Replaced with magnetic catches. Now door opens 180degrees upward and is held in place by magnetic catches.
7. Repaired two small roof tears with Eternabond tape.

OK - my 15 year old grandson did most of the work, but I wore myself out supervising

If you’ve not already done so, consider changing the shock angle. I think Joyrider makes a bracket kit to position the shocks to a more effective angle.

That said, a lot of owners remove and do not replace them.

I’m still enjoying my last 2 upgrades.

The first week in June, thanks to a hail storm we received a new sprayed-on FlexArmor roof for the coach. This weekend we decided to also coat our slide-out roofs, since we do not have toppers on them they were looking a little worse for wear. (They did not receive hail damage, as we had pulled in the slides before the storm hit.)

We decided on Dicor CoolCoat, hoping it would help with the heat transfer as well as seal the roof.

Here’s some before/after pics of the 5 slides.

Note we still need to remove the tape but they look great!!


First step requires the slide to be wrapped with plastic to protect it from the cleaner/activator.

Once the roof has been cleaned, we have to tape the edges. Then we can roller on the CoolCoat.

It took us 2 days working 7:30am to noon, then 5:30-8:30pm, to avoid the hottest part of the day.

(And only one extra trip to the store for more tape!)

Bringing the Bighorn back to life ...

First due to cold wx (in the 60's or less) - followed by the quarantine - our fifth has been resting since last Oct.

Today my bride announced she thought our/ MY (GSD) dog would enjoy visiting a nearby military campground lake, so off we went. The campground was open (but only -perhaps- at 33% occupancy). Of course we went straight to the office and booked a 10 day stretch / 18-28 June. Side-note, as they are no longer receiving support from the Senior Parks pass they no longer offer a discount (formerly at $5 day).

Then once home (but on a 20A circuit) I opened the 5 slides then went around closing all the water valves that I'd opened last fall. I added 3 min. worth of water to the onboard tank (for highway use only) then switched it over to city water. As one of my outside shower knobs are back-assward I missed that one and had to rush over and close it. Once assured I had no internal water leaks I started purging the lines (the toilet bowl was by now dry). Then I switched on the AC powered water heater for an hour (it worked) before turning it off. Several hours later my freezer was growing ice cubes. Lastly I then performed a first! - I climbed onto the roof with a broom; my rain gutters were very clogged - the roof (while very hot in the sun) was not bad.

Provided my auto jacks are still working we'll be off come Thursday. On 20A I'm not gonna try the Air Cond. units - so fingers are crossed.

Tomorrow I hope to break out the power washer as my tow vehicle is quite covered in a mold of some sort; it too has been in long term retirement mode.
I feel bad that I topped off the fuel tank back then- todays prices are much better (but slowly going back up).

Mosquito infestation. Found that the stripping below the kitchen slide had sagged. Couple of small boards later and the gap is sealed. If I could figure out how to paste a picture from my phone I’d show you.

wired up a 50 amp plug from the garage, no more issues while parked at home now.

Replaced the generator exhaust pipe hanger - the one by the off-door-side frame. Also replaced the center cap that goes into the insert that's in the center of the wheel. I lost it 4 years ago and finally found one in a surplus parts store near Elkhart earlier this month.
