What do I do "IF" a slide won't open/close?

I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I couldn't find it, so I thought I'd ask the experts.

I have never had a slide not open, or close properly. But I have always wondered, what if I push the button and one or more slides do not extend or retract?

Can I open the hydraulic valves and physically push the slides out, or in?

Also, I was told when I bought my Bighorn 3055. The slides are suppose to extend/retract one at a time. Mine are now extending/retracting at least two at a time. They seem to work fine, is this a bad thing? Or should I start messing around with  Err! properly adjusting the hydraulic valves?

I really appricate the the advice from those who know, In all seriousness I'm not without some mechanical skills. But I'm sure no RV tech ether.

Thank you you in advance for your help. I apologize if this is not the proper location for this post.

Re: What do I do?

When you push the button to retract the slides, they will all work or none will work. There is a manual drive if the slides do not work. There is a screw head at the end of the motor which runs the hydraulic pump. Your trailer should have came with a flexible extension for a drill. This is used to reach the head of the pump motor. You may have to remove a plug in the wall of the storage area to use the extension. A screwdriver head will go in the extension. Running the drill one way will extend the slides, the other way will retract them. This only works if the problem is electrical.

The first slide in is the one with the least resistance. Two slides may have equal resistance and come in at the same time. Doesn't hurt a thing.

Re: What do I do?

The manual drive bit for the hydraulic pump will activate the slides if only the pump is not working. A blown out hose, hydraulic cylinder, or other hydraulic system failure will not allow the slides to work properly, even if the pump IS working. I have heard that ratchet tie down cargo straps can be used to pull in and hold the slide in until you can get to a repair place. I have only heard of these kind of problems happening a couple of times in the 7 years I have been on the forum.

Unless they've redesigned the pump, the manual drive requires a 1/4" hex head bit to operate it, not a screwdriver bit. There will be a tape cover over it on the end of the motor. My 2009 rig did not come with either the bit or extension.

If one of the timing gear brakes the slide might jam and pushing on the slower side might get it in.
This happened to a friend.
I did push on a lot of electric slides with failed motors. One was a brand new one on its first trip.
The owned canceled the vacation and drove straight home P.O.
