Window rain guards

Has anyone installed rain guards over their windows, and are they worth it?

I installed 1 stick on rubber rain channel over the big rear window years ago to help keep it clean(er). It used to be I would clean it, it would rain soon after, and I would have a streaky window from the runoff streams. Problem minimized.

I bought some of these, as they would be both functional, and tie in with the retro look. But due to the metal siding seams being right in my way, I ended up not using them.
