Whoopee do. I hope 2012 gets some more standard changes than these mentioned, like some side stabilizing jacks, and some more substantial improvements, with all the new technology out there.

They are finally doing all the things a pushed so hard for many years ago, really glad to see it. All you soon-to-be-owners of Bighorns are sure lucky to have so many upgrades available.

Just got an email from our dealer that our 2011 3670RL was delivered yesterday morning. We are going to pick it up on 22 Jan. We cant wait. I feel like a kid waiting for Santa Claus. But here in Atlanta with 20 degrees and ice everywhere we will be glad to wait 2 weeks.

I'm looking forward to seeing the 2011. Our dealer, near here, is not planning to order a display one any time soon. We're getting close to buying.

We started looking at BH's in early 2008, I thought the changes from then until we finally bought our 2010 3670rl were great! The new changes even make it better!
Thanks for the info Jim... looking forward to seeing one at the camper show!

I have to agree with Larryheadhunter. I do not see too many substantive upgrades from my 2009 to the 2011, given the state of the technology. Why would they not make an electrical system surge protection standard like a behind the wall SurgeGuard? And maybe a light under the side by the sewer connect so you can do more than grope around or hold a flashlight in your mouth while juggling the cap off the discharge? Or maybe I'll just wait until the morning to hook up that sewer line... :D

We purchased a 2011 3610RE in December and are very pleased with the changes. The new graphics, hydraulic front landing gear, keyless entry, and upgraded mattress are great improvements. The other changes are very nice also, especially the halogen "recessed" lighting. One change not listed is the more residential GE Profile microwave/convection oven if you choose the convection option.

Jim and Leslie,

Thanks for the feedback. I like the idea of the light by the sewer discharge area. Is this area not well lit from the scare lights on that side of your coach? Something for us to consider.

As for making a surge guard system as standard equipment, I don't feel this is something you're going to see from Heartland. Don't get me wrong, I believe in such product. However, there are several brands and styles of this product and for us as a manufacturer to choose the brand/model that everyone is going to get, whether they want it or not, then add $400-$800 to the retail price of every unit, I'm not sure that would sit well with 100% of our customers. That is how a manufacturer has to look at it.

By not including everything in an RV that some (but not all) RVers would want or would pay for, it allows those who want this or that to add it, either on their own or by their dealer. We try to strike a balance.

We are new to the forum and SOON TO BE HEARTLAND OWNERS!!! Thanks for your input, each comment helps us make a more informed decision on our new home. You are correct that everyone would not want the same options or even standards in some cases. Looking forward to making our purchase in the next few weeks.

Thanks. We are trying to decide between 3610RE or 3585RL. Like the bedroom set up in the 3585, but like having the rear entertainment unit (Hubby is big TV guy) Any thoughts out there?

We are looking at the 3585RL. We like the extra closet and pantry next to the stairs. We also like the location and appearance of the stairs. I saw some photos of a customers new 3585 on here a couple weeks ago and the fireplace and desk swapped locations. Kind of liked it, but the dealer had not heard of this change yet. Have heard rumors of a 3455RL but can't find any info.

If you go to pharrrv.com they have pictures of the new big horn 3585rl and new 3610 re . The 3610 is the one we ordered and when it came in did not like the bathroom, so we reordered and got a 3585 waiting for it to come in last of jan

Thanks Ray! I've pretty much looked through all of the Ti discussions. I like all of the standard features on the new BH's and think it is a great thing that BH has improved upon the Ti design. BTW I have family from the Wisconsin Rapids area. I am also interested in the Greystone by BH. Not much on their section of the forums though.

I have not seen my new 2011 3585 yet. It was built in January 2011. I see some 2011's with the outside speakers and some without. Anyone know when this change took place. Really like to have the speakers.

We ordered a 2011 3585rl in March 2011 and it arrived April 20th. Now the dealership is calling it a 2012. Weird!? Before we ordered it we looked at several dealer websites and I too noticed the fireplace was on the left or on the right depending on which camper I was looking at. So when we ordered it we didn't know what we were getting. Also depending on the website the bathroom sink was either ceramic top with cover or just a regular sink. I also noticed that the 2012 3585rl have the gel coated fiberglass but I don't know if we got that or not. Our dealer told us there is no certain way on how the factory builds these things. Also weird.

I think I would disagree with your dealer. Gel Cote is a special order option. They don't just put it on a rig unless the dealer orders it that way. Late in the model year things will change in anticipation of the new year.
In our 2011, 3585RL the fireplace is on the left. The new models they have moved the FP to the right. I think I would prefer it on the right.
Just my opinion.

Peace
Dave

Our salesman sent pics of our camper and we lucked out because the FP is on the right. And we got the ceramic top BR sink. Also is the 2012 gel coat fiberglass option the same as the 2011 high gloss fiberglass option? Thanks

I don't know for sure but I would think the 2012 would be the same as the 2011. The 2011 brochure states "High Gloss Exterior" as an option.
When do you plan on picking up your new rig?

karykatz

High Gloss is an option. It will list it on the Dealers MSRP sheet under options - "High Gloss Exterior Sidewalls"

I hope this helps.

We are going to see it for the first time in Owatonna, Mn on May 7th to do the PDI inspect and sign papers. Then hopefully on or around May 18th Noble RV is transporting it to Ash River Trail in NE MN to be placed on our seasonal spot. We can't wait especially after reading about all the fun and experiences you and everyone else is having with camping in your Bighorn.

Congrats on your purchase. My wife and I ordered a BH 3185 for a few short trips a year and a place to sleep when we visit her parents. I have been lurking around here for a few weeks and learning all kinds of neat things from the folks that "have been to the mountaintop!"
We did see a 2012 model and noticed Heartland has found a permanent fix for the "half-barrel" kitchen cabinet. I was hoping for more robust hardware but alas...it's just gone.
We are excited and can hardly wait to get our unit though. Since we both still work it is going to be very difficult to meet the folks paying attention to this forum. I am envious of no man for any possession or relationship but gosh darn it, I am envious of those that have time to finally relax and smell the roses! To borrow the quote from another poster - - - "Life is like a roll of toilet paper...it goes faster the closer you get to the end."

Welcome to the forum Almost retired.

We are waiting for the new 3685RL to start production on June 6th. Want to look at one in person and then decide what to upgrade to-if anything.
Here is the new floor plan

13301

It has EVERY requirement that we we have. It is the only floorplan that we have found that does other than 1 SOB. Tired of looking and researching-hope this floorplan is everything it appears to be.

Love the back half of the KL. But we don't want the steps to the bedroom by the door and don't want the w/d in the closet.

I saw where you are FTing in yours now. KL has lots of room for that.

Wow, did not know they were coming out with that floorplan in the BH, I like that one, lots of open space in the rear, private bath and W/D not in the bedroom, pretty cool.
I will keep a eye out for that one!!!!!

Yeah there sure is. Just about right. Ther only needs tO be a better coat closet and a cabinet one the side big enough for a box of cereal. Atleast how we have ours. But we are working those things out. That coach is a nice one also. I hope it comes out soon so you can get to see it. I know how it is to see it on paper and not in person. Michael

Not sure if that is a desk or maybe a hamper or seat?? No idea and this is the only information I can find on this floorplan. I am sure they have a built a proto type????? but dont know that either. It appears to me that the back half is similar to the 2650 BC or KL in which case there would be a desk by the rear TV.
Matter of fact, other than floorplan, anything is a guess. We are going to call the factory this week and see if they can come up with any specs. Have no idea even how long it is but am guessing between 36 and 38.

Great Floorplan! I could not ask for more, but then I have not seen one yet. We are going to our local dealer today to get pricing on a BC3650RL. This new BigHorn may just hold us up for another couple months of research. I'm excited about the BH and depressed that I may have to wait even longer.
Nothing has moved us away the BC3650rl, until now. Darn It!!

Yes, we finally picked up the 2012 3185. Have had it home for about a week and have been stocking up & "decorating.". We are very lucky to have a dealer that is really good AND competitive only 20 miles from us. So far, we have had zero reason to return anything for warranty. The only defect I found was some weatherstripping needing additional adhesive and two fender supports were missing screws. Took all of 7 minutes and 12 seconds for me to fix it myself. I am really pleased. I have a Superglide hitch and it towed like a dream. We will have it out for a couple weeks the last week of June and first week of July. Will provide an update then.

Floridarvers,

Not many changes in the 2013 vs 2012. Except for some minor cosmetic changes, the biggest change is eliminating the keyless entry feature and going with a wireless remote system that controls the slide rooms, power awning, front landing gear and entry step light. We also added a Motion Sensor Front entry door light.

I hope this helps. Congrats on the purchase of your new 3185.
