I had a question asked of me and I did not know how to answer. What is the additional 10$ for. They knew Heartland gives each rally so much a rig so they were wondering why the extra $10 on top of that. Is there something special you are planning that extra money is needed? I could not give an answer because I did not know. I could not even answer if we had paid that that last two rallies we attended at Branson. Having a memory lapse here! I decided to just ask and to get the message from you and not hearsay. Thanks, Barb By the way, we will be attending but waiting until the end of January before making reservations.

12-04-2012, 05:42 PM
The extra $10 charge is just to make sure we can cover some extra costs I anticipate with the Rally being an extra day and having the Christmas in September theme. We are wanting to do some extra things at the dinner the last evening. Thanks for asking I am sure others will be wondering also.

Looks like we will be able to attend, step son decided to get married, so Sally wants to stay home this summer & just make some local trips. Don't want to make reservations just yet, because who knows what will be happening. Looks like we won't be able to sit on the fence too long though! Hopefully we'll be able to get there before Bernie so Sally can flood Branson with Munzees!!!

Route suggestions. Gerry & I will be attending the MO rally, and from Branson we are heading to FL. I would like to know what would be the best route from Branson to the best roads heading south east to FL. We have the 3875FB Big Horn and it is 42 feet long. Thus, small curvy and hilly roads may be an issue. You may email any suggestions to me at tank67tommy@gmail.com. Thank you for the help, and we will see you at the MO rally. Tom

We live in Shell Knob, Mo., about 30 miles west of Branson. When we traveled to Orlando, Fl. we went straight down 65, picked up 20 and overnighted at the Ameristar Casino in Vicksburg, then 49 to 98, to 10, then stopped at Defuniak Springs, then 75 on into Orlando. Or you can go south on 65, east on 62 in Harrison, east on 63, 55 south to 240 around the south side of Memphis to 78, to 231, to 10. The 62 route I use often to go to my dad's in Decatur Al., it is good road and has slowly grown into new 4 lane almost all the way.

We would like to update our registration information for the rally. My mother, Mabel, is very active lady who has been RVing since the 1960's and will be attending the rally with Betty and me. Is there any additional cost for the rally itself? FYI our arrival date is Thursday, Sept 26 and we are leaving Monday, Sept 30. Thanks for your work in putting this together. Jim Posz

Special Notice
8/12/2013
Lake Devil, the eight-acre lake in the heart of Devil's Den State Park, is currently without water while work is underway to perform repairs on the 1930s CCC rock dam that forms the lake. As a result, the park's pedal boats and canoes are currently not available for rent.

There are two roads into Devils Den. If I remember correctly, the first one you come to from the south is the bad one, not recommended for trailers. You want the second exit from the south.

We are hopefully going to be Heartland owners sometime soon. I was wondering if we could stop by the rally and talk to some owners, and maybe get some tours of your rigs? We don't want to impose on the "party", but would like some feedback directly from owners. We are looking at Landmark Key Largo or maybe the new Savannah.

Travel advice:

From I-65 take the exit at Route 248 (Shepherd of the Hills Parkway) to get to the campground. DO NOT take the Route 465 exit to 248 or you'll take the long and winding road to the campground. If you're coming from the North, your GPS may direct you to exit onto 465. Ignore it and continue about 3.5 miles to Shepherd of the Hills Parkway.

Bass Pro had a sale the other day on brown camo bomber jackets. I got one for my son, but he needs a tall & this one isn't. It's a size XXL, & has a hood. If anyone is interested in it it was $20.00, I'm planning on bringing it to the rally & if no one wants it, I'll probably return it to the BPS in Branson. Here (http://www.basspro.com/RedHead-1856-Fleece-Bomber-Jacket/product/11082705010510/) is a link to BPS website where it is. It's a pretty nice jacket for the money.

Having a great time at the MO rally! There have been a lot of shows taken in, sightseeing, and a few of us have been out Munzeeing. Found a couple who are Munzeers that live just south of Branson in Harrison Arkansas, who own a Big Country. Invited them to the pot luck tonight & they joined the club...along with 3 other couples, we got a total of 4 new couples that joined HOC at the MO rally!!!!

Had a great time in Branson, thanks Jeff & Joy for jumping in for Michael & Daphna! The stragglers are leaving in the morning with several of us heading to the Amana Colonies for the Iowa Rally. Sixteen of us went to dinner tonight @ Mel's Hardluck Diner & had a great time. Sally was a runner up for the "Ugly Sweater Contest", & tonight Bette got a serenade by one of the singers at Mel's.2682226823
Has anyone been able to get the video to work? It's not working for me.

I gotta agree with Roy, thanks for a great weekend Jeff and Joy. We had a great time meeting some new folks and seeing lots of old friends.

Thank you to the previous and present chapter leaders as well as the chapter members for a enjoyable rally! We had a good time with a great group of campers! See some of you in Iowa this weekend!

Where are the pictures that were taken of each couple with names?

Thanks Tom. It was wonderful to see you and Gerry. I love your new rig and I can't wait to get ours. Of course I have to wait because we're building an RV/Boat/Tow rig garage.

Sally was too pretty to wind the ugly sweater competition.

That's a heck of a good question. I think I'm going to reach out and touch (gently of course) the photographer. Hey Paul Standiford, what out, I'm looking for you.
