50A Power Cord wiring

I'm replacing the male end on my 50A power cord and would like some wiring advice.

Before cutting the plug off I checked both ends of the cord to find out which hot male tab was connected to which hot slot on the female with my ohm meter. Have the matching connections all mapped out on paper. No problem.

I cut off the plug and start to put on the new marinco male plug. The plug wiring instructions say that the red Must be connected to the R connection and the black Must be connected to the B connection. No problem. Except, wired per the manufacturers' instructions the hot slots on the female connector end are now reversed.

As long as the ground Green and neutral White are correct and the hot Red and hot Black are connected with 120v per side does it matter which hot is the left slot or which is the right slot at the rv end of the power cord?
