Picked up my front AC shroud in the middle of a three lane street. A tree caught it. Took the shroud and the foam as well. Looks like a new AC is now in order. I will have to travel to Los Vegas Rally with a tarp tied around the front AC and replace it there.

We went through an underpass in Spokane that had a stoplight. Since we were stopped, I looked to see if we had any clearance left (the sign said 13’ 8"). We had over a foot of space left so the numbers were pretty close.

Do you mean “get a new AC shroud”? Wouldn’t think you’d need to get a new AC unit.

Cannot get the internal foam that directs the air form the internal return and the air pushed through the cooling coil into the ducts. So new AC is required. The foam was mostly shredded into small pieces. Only the bottom foam remained. Everything that is shown in the picture of the AC unit should be covered with preformed foam.
That being said. I pieced the remaining shroud together with some of the larger pieces, 3M primer, and white Gorilla tape. Used 14ga house wire with the white insulation and crossed strapped it down using the shroud mounting screws. Will make it to the Los Vegas rally. Get it replaced in Los Vegas. If I were staying home, I would order with free shipping from PPL Motorhomes. They have it on sale for $539.99, which is a a very good price.

I purchased a new valterra valve without the cable. Removing the tee handle from the new valve as well as the cable coupler from the old ( with a bench vice) and applied thread lock.I can't tell, is that a Valterra brand valve? I have to work on mine sometime, like right afterI drain the system.
Reinstalled and working great.

Yup Carl, the factory install of the plumbing failed to take into account the need to spread the piping apart even to service the valve. I could see the seals were fine, but one had somehow rolled over and prevented the slide to pass between and make a positive seal. As long as I had the whole thing out I disassemble it and cleaned it all up. As you say, depending on what your replacing you can reuse many parts. The job really shouldn't take 30 and that includes digging out the few tools and clean up.

I got the plumbing schematic made by the engineers for my rig. I wanted to know where the valves were located prior to cutting the coroplast to get to them. The schematic shows them at the output of the tanks. Well surprise, surprise, surprise! The valves were located far away from the tanks, but where an assembler could work faster to install. Makes great for piece work assembly, but poor design. This must be (my speculation) why electrical schematics are not released to the owners. The assemblers will do what ever is more efficient for assembly than what the engineers designed for. So no schematics, because to issue them will give the owner something to lean on. Rig maybe not wired to engineering drawings. I would be surprised if the engineers would allow three connections inside the insulation displacement sockets for the romex. The third romex connections barely makes contact. It is no surprise that that is where I have now had two open connections in two of them. I have replace the sockets with retrofit home boxes and home sockets to fix the problem. Cannot blame the assemblers. They are pushed to get X number of units out per week. It is not just a Heartland issue. All are pressured to keep the cost down. Heartland is at least inspecting each trailer to reduce the problems owners find after purchase. That being said, three connections with insulation displacement sockets fail, and are a latent failure down the road.

Power reel door/cover was sloppy/floppy and losing contact with the J-wrap. The screws were backing out but when retighening there seemed to be little for them to grab on to.
So today was the day to fix.
After removing the frame it was obvious no care had been taken cutting out the opening in the J-wrap as several screws barely caught any material and one missed it completely. So much so that the installer used a piece of the cardboard RV trim as “nut” to hold the screw in place. Geez!!!
I made a backer frame for behind the J-wrap from some flat aluminum stock so when the frame was replaced it fits solidly against the J-wrap
While I had everything apart I opened the electrical connections compartment and checked the torque on the nuts holding the power cord pigtail. All were loose about a half turn on the locknuts

So not what I did to the trailer but what the I-80 between Salt Lake City and Reno did to one of my rims. Sure hope Heartland still has a few of these around.

Heartland likely won't have the rims. Tredit provides them and has a lifetime warranty. Give them a call. (800) 537-2925

You where correct Heartland finally answered the email I sent and all they said was that they where no longer available.
They did not bother to tell me anything about who they get them from or that they are warranted and to contact the manufacturer.
My question is that if they did have them in stock would they have tried to sell me one........when Tredit is sending me one under warranty.

They wouldn't have sold you one. And had you asked, eventually you would have been pointed at Tredit.
I don't think Heartland stocks any wheels at all. They order wheels with tires already mounted for each upcoming trailer build.
As for your customer service exchange, I can picture a new customer service guy covering his microphone and asking the guy next to him about wheels. The 2nd guy says "we don't stock wheels", and your guy translates that into "they're no longer available."

Keep a good eye on those wheels. Do you have a tire pressure monitoring system? We had three different ones (same exact style) crack on the inside portion of the rim and let the air out overnight (fortunately all when stopped). I found those by getting a low pressure alert when performing my morning hitch-up routine. I had another one crack like yours, as well.
