Slide and floor bottoming out and contacting tires

We had a Keystone Laredo that had the same symptoms. I measured the length of the shackle brackets and they were 2" shorter than those on a twin trailer at the dealership. Keystone replaced the brackets. Just a thought. Mark

    Pin box flex

You should not only check pin box movement, but also the caulking around the trim on the bedroom overhang when hitched to your tow vehicle. We had visible flex on both sides when hitched. Heartland was very good to work with on ours and they made repairs even though it was two years out of...

    Rig movement while parked

I'll second the jacks near the wheels. It took out 90% of the movement even with someone sleeping on the sofa.

    Equalizer's Cracking

Re: Equlizer's Yes, mine cracked as well. Mobile Outfitters stated the set that came with the unit were too small. I replaced them with the larger size and have not had a problem. Neither Mobile Outfitters nor Heartland felt any responsibility in the wrong size being installed on the 5er.

    2010 27BHS water damage

Joezeppy, I also had damage to the floor of my storage compartment. Water was seeping in through the screw holes on the baggage door. The carpet had mold on it and the floor/storage area had to be rebuilt Caulk/sealant around the screws has solved the problem. Check the carpet/covering on...

Eagle Ridge - How many are there?

I've had mine since Aug 2009. Headed to Elkhart this weekend with it.

    Separation of overhang trim

The overhang trim on the door side of my 2010 Eagle Ridge 34RLSA has begun to separate from the side wall. I caulked the entire section while the trailer was resting on the front jacks. It looked good. I let it cure for 4 days. As soon as I hitched to the truck, the trim pulled 1/8" down...

    Water in the underbelly

Our unit leaked into the underbelly when I used the "black tank sprayer". The simple solution has been to stop using it. No more leaks.

Great service - New Hope Rv

Just a quick note. Having taken our Eagle Ridge to have a water leak in the shower repaired 4 different times, I finally lost patience with the dealership where we purchased the unit. The dealership was 120 mile away. I called New Hope Rv which is local and has recently started selling...

    Mildew in the basement

Guys, I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the air vent in the tool area did not solve the mildew problem. I just checked the 5er this afternoon and the mildew was back and the bottom of the tool area was damp. I'm not sure what the next move is, but I guess I'll contact the dealer and...

    Mildew in the basement

The vents were installed in the ends of the tool box area. I picked the fiver up 3-4 weeks ago and have checked the tool area several times since then. No mildew so far. I'll keep you updated if the mildew starts. Yee ha, we are planning our first trip of the year in a few weeks. Sorry...

    Mildew in the basement

David Hilliker of Heartland called today and told me what the factory had concluded about the basement mildew problem. He said it was a lack of ventilation/air flow in the area. The "fix" is to cut a 2" vent hole in the side of the tool box to allow air to circulate. This isn't really a...

    Mildew in the basement

John, I had propped the lid to the compartment open for 2-3 weeks and there was no moisture. The lid has been shut for the past 2 weeks and it is wet. I still have the problem. I hope the factory comes up with something soon.

    Mildew in the basement

I received a call today from David H. in the warranty dept. at Heartland. He stated he was unable find out any information concerning the "wet basement". It has been turned over to the ElkRidge plant manager. David said he had seen the multiple posts of the problem on the Heartland website...
