    Check the breakers on the generator, cycle them. Look for the 30amp or 50 amp transfer switch for the generator. See if it is getting power from the generator.

    The invertor and 15 amp transfer switch is for the residential fridge, only, and nothing to do with anything else. Are you using and onboard genderator or a stand alone? Either way, cycle the breaker on the generator.

    Closing off vents will cause the furnace to overheat and shut down, possibly requiring a manual reset, depending on model and age of the unit. They are designed to have X amount of air moving across the heat exchanger to prevent melt down or fire.

    Excessive idling will cause an idle up to heat up the exhaust or to keep it hot, it is not for regeneration. The light duty pickups do not use the same programing as class 7 & 8 over the road trucks. Light duty pick ups will never do a stationary regeneration, unless forced by a technician.

    You mentioned you are using a 30 amp outlet. Your rig is a 50 amp unit. When you are using an adaptor to convert 30 to 50 amp, you tie both hot legs together. The adaptor could be bad and not suppling power to both legs equally, probably the leg that the convertor is on.
