How to determine power requirements for RV

I have a 2015 Oakmont 345RS. I did have an Onan 5500 installed. If I have time this evening I will take a few pictures so you can get an idea of the space needed. FYI, I have dual air conditioners and the Onan 5500 handles both plus the TV going and the refrigerator without issue. C&J

Does anyone know of a cord that can be purchased to go from a Tab4 to the HDMI port on the Legend TV set in my Oakmont 345RS? Thanks in advance. C&J

    Jensen Entertainment Center

Any fellow Oakmont owners know the model number of their Jensen Stereo. I have the manual but it's not here with me at work. I saw some discussion about Jensen's but their drawings show an HDMI connection. Mine is connected to the television with RCA cables. Was wondering why they would use RCA...

    Legend TV

Okay, thanks. Proof is in the pudding. I will upgrade the RCA cable and see if that improves the quality. And then run HDMI from my laptop to the back of the TV to compare. Thanks for the feedback. C

    Legend TV

Hi had posted a week or two ago about the poor picture quality from my Legend TV. Well, I was wrong. It isn't the TV. It's the Jensen stereo. There is only the RCA cables going to the TV from the stereo. I pulled the manual on the Jensen and there is no HDMI connection. I will most likely use my...

    Repalcing Rear Bumper

Thanks everyone. I have a Tradesman model so it has no frills such as back up sensors or camera. Just a plain ole bumper. I will take a look underneath the bumper to see how much wire is there. I could just extend with same size wire, cut and splice. Thanks again. C

    Repalcing Rear Bumper

Hello all - I searched the whole Forum to post my message/query and found this might be the place. My spousal unit "kissed" a cement pillar about 1 week ago. Kissed it real good. I don't want to claim on my insurance. The impact was very low speed so I am sure there is no alignment issues or...

TPMS 2016 Ram Dually - No Warning of Low Tire Pressure

Could it be that my tire hasnt gotten low enough? I havent seen it before 45lbs (supposed to be 65) so maybe there is a low threshold before it sounds off. C

TPMS 2016 Ram Dually - No Warning of Low Tire Pressure

Agree Bohemian. My 2015 doesn't warn me at all. I have had one tire/wheel consistently provide wrong air poundage. I haven't taken to dealer yet but I still have some miles before the 36K limit. C

    Kinda Electrical

Hey Porthole - I didn't read what material the ring is made of. In order for it to be usable to me it has to be flexible. I need to be able to stretch the new ring over the 50 amp male that plugs into the coach. C

Keeping a Refridgerator cold when driving

Hi all; I may have missed a post that discussed plugging in your trailer to the truck, switch in the trailer on "by-pass" mode, and heading down the road. I have done this several times and the residential fridge we have is still cold, ice is still frozen and nothing is ruined. In fact, we don't...

    Kinda Electrical

Hi Folks, looking to replace the "plastic" ring that is threaded to hold the 50amp cord to my Oakmont. I know other models have them besides Oakmont. Mine has cracked and is almost worthless. I need to replace it in case we're somewhere and it rains plus am afraid if the connection is not fully...

Replacing TV in Front Room of 345RS Oakmont

Well, I am used to a smart TV that is 1080. This TV is not 1080. I believe it is 720. Grainy picture. The DVD player (Jensen) has RCA jacks instead of HDMI. At least I haven't seen them. When we play a regular DVD the picture quality is not up to my expectation. C

Replacing TV in Front Room of 345RS Oakmont

Hi Folks, not really happy about the quality of the TV in the front room. We will both be retiring at the end of October this year and plan on using our 5th wheel way more than we are now. With the prices of the flat screens, I'd be crazy not to replace the existing one. My concern is the wall...

What and where do you get an Aux Fuel/tool box for the bed of the truck.

Hi - what exactly does Freedom Fill mean? I like the 45 gallon tank for its width and height. I don't have a cover on my bed so I might go to a locking cap. Nonetheless, I would like the aux tank to fill as the main goes down. I think that is gravity but not sure. Thanks in advance. Cary

    Oakmont 345 RS Backup Cam

Thanks for the response. There is no bracket so I guess I either tap into the running lights for power or tap into the backup lights at the bottom and mount on the trailer bumper. Not sure what is behind the rear wall of the trailer and fishing a line on an unknown doesn't sound like fun. Thanks...

    Oakmont 345 RS Backup Cam

Trying to decide if the expense of a backup camera is worth the effort and money. The state parks we've gone to are back in. My spousal unit typically gets out and assists but I was thinking a wireless cam would be wonderful. Does anyone know if the Oakmonts were prewired for a backup cam or do...

Keeping pests out of the UDC

Morning all: maybe I'm missing something here. My Oakmont came with a plug for the 4 inch hole, its hard plastic with a handle. I only take it out when needed to run a hose. Are you talking about long term camping where the hole is exposed for days on end?

    Part numbers?

Are there set intervals for changing those bearings and seals? I did own a Keystone Cougar before my Heartland Oakmont purchase. I did the Cougar bearings at about the 4 year mark. They looked to be in good shape. However, I will caveat that statement by saying we did weekend outings, no more...

What was shipped with this unit - SN in thread

Hi Folks - read the posts on this thread discussing batteries. One reply caught my attention. I guess my question is, while I am towing my Oakmont 345RS (with 2 batteries), isn't the truck charging the batteries as needed? I switch on the By-Pass switch once hooked to the truck and off I go...

    Las Vegas, NV RV Parks

Hi Folks - thinking of Las Vegas and rather than stay in hotel rooms, would prefer to pull my Oakmont. Anyone have good experiences up Vegas way? Although only for 4/5 nights, price hopefully won't exceed $50 a night. Full hook-up nice, but not required. If they have shuttles to the strip I...
