Actually "Snake Oil" is just like medicine. Many polymers/dispersants/anti-gelling/cloud dispersants and so on are used in almost every manufactured/produced/refined product you purchase. Many of the them are critical to maintain production quality and engineering limits. However all products...
Most iron is soluble that will give you staining issues. No way to filter it out. You can remove it via resin or RO however it will foul the RO membrane as well. You can go down to 1 micron to help remove all the suspended solids. Little higher DP and shorter filter life.
All the trailers that get dropped every year really makes a great case for the GN and Goose Box. Knock on wood we have never dropped any of our trailers in the past 50+ years. With the addition of the Goose Box which will keep your warranty intact it allows you to make that call. Most of the 5th...
Any of the available 10" filter housings work very well. GE and Dupont brands are available at Menards or Home Depot. Generally a 10 micron or so sediment filter is adequate for normal needs. If you want to remove chlorine then use an activated carbon filter. With Carbon filters it is imperative...
If you are doing a lot of towing downhill with heavy loads, the manual transmission option is the best way to go. Works great. Didn't know about any button must be a 2013 option. The 2011-2012 Fords use the regenerative process which I find works well. Slower speeds maybe not as good.
We ordered the additional GVW package and are very happy that our truck levels to a perfect position to travel. The Augusta is nose heavy and weight 3700 pounds loaded on the pin. Had to install air bags on the other TV's but not on the F350. It sits rear high until you drop the load on and then...
I know a G614 will outlast any of the LT tires on the market in trailer service from experience. I am just curious how loading up an LT will work for others. We usually blow them out where they are loaded up at or near their capacity. The ST's are designed to be slid and turned as in trailer...
Someone else a few months ago posted they used a short length of NSF hose to insert into the fill line. I cut a 3' piece and tried this. It was the only way I could get the tanks to fill fairly fast. I had tried the short filler insert sold in camping supply stores and at the dealers. Didn't...
Re: Aluminum Rims 16"
I have found by going to the 140-150 pound range for 9/16 they don't come loose. You torque them once and check them every 1000 miles or more. Most of the F250-350 torque values are 160#'s for 9/16 studs.
Have to agree 100% with this. We use oil on 10,000# axles and up. If you don't use the trailer much then grease if way better. You would have to pull at least 30-40K to make it feasible to go to oil bath. Properly packed bearings will last years and years under normal use.
The sulfur smell is from sulfur in the water. The only long term fix is to chlorinate and then use a carbon filter. When the carbon filter is exhausted/full you will know as you won't be able to stay in the shower.
We have good luck coming down out of the mountains using the manual mode, tow haul engaged, and tapping brakes if we start to increase RPM's more than I like. Almost always I can regulate the speed by lowering and increasing the gear selected.
We have been through the Rockies and have had no issues with 3:55 gears and using the manual transmission rarely have to use the brakes coming down. Tows better than any of our F series trucks and handles almost as good as our F550 considering the Augusta is fairly light compared to what we...
You are right on. We run many trailers/trucks and it would be a night mare trying to check tires all the time. Looks low or runs warm then it gets checked.
We installed ours on a F350 LB and haven't had any problems. I can see where a short bed with a tool box might be as we had problems turning short with our Yellowstone on the SB TV. You do need a HD drill and a 5/8" bit to install as a replacement for Lippert HD pin boxes. Certainly good advice...
