Dan, I absolutely agree with you. I was merely passing on what Heartland told me. The reason I asked them in the first place because I thought I might have burned a hole in it myself when I found a leak in the tank. We had camped at MorRyde over New Years and I turned the Yeti package on.
I stopped at Lippert a few months ago and was told that the current draw is 79A during retraction. They recommended going to a 80A breaker. He said he couldn't figure out why Heartland won't install the 80A breakers.
As cold as it has been in Wisconsin, it's probably not a good idea to leave the battery in your RV without running power to it. Once the battery discharges it can freeze and it may have suffered some. I remove mine every year and store it in the garage on a board and then trickle charge it...
Welcome to the Heartland family Michael and Evelyn. You joined a great organization. In 2016 we have two rallies scheduled in MO. The Regional is in Branson starting on 4/28 and the State Chapter Rally is in Platte City on 6/3. Perhaps you can make one or both of these rallies. A great time...
I stopped at Lippert while at the Indiana rally. One of the techs told me that on retraction of the jacks the motor draws 79 amps. They recommended the 80A breaker.
A few years ago we spent the night in our Montana at Walmart in New Mexico. Got up in the morning and it was 17 degrees outside. The furnace was not on all night. No frozen pipes nor any damage. It did have the arctic package.
We did the Kings Ranch 2 years ago and did the ranch tour and then in the afternoon we did the wildlife tour. Worth every penny. Seen tons of wildlife.
In my opinion, getting rid of the caps on the BC's is a good move. It's about time that their is a 'major' difference between the BC and BH. I would hate to see the cap disappear on the BH. I would not buy a fiver without a rear cap. Please keep the hate mail to a minimum. LOL
