We will be spending a few nights in a space with 30 amp service. I bought an adapter for our 50 amp plug to plug into 30 amp. Wondering how well this will work and if we should curtail our electrical use?
We have a Cyclone 4000 and Chevy long box crew cab. We have been all over and no problems. We use "Rvparking, com" KOA and Goodsam Trip Planner. These apps seam to be good at locating Big Rig sites
Google Trails Heaven West Virginia and put it on your list. They love ATV Riders and have hundreds of miles of great riding for all levels. Enjoy that Cyclone!
Sounds like the mini breaker or loose connections. Also I find that mine works best when feeding from the battery vs. the converter only (when plugged in to shore power) I think the converter does not produce the extra amps needed for the level-up
Go to the Dexter website for complete and correct instructions on EZ Lube hubs. I paid an RV service center to to my bearings and they did not do it right. When I did it myself it took ALOT of grease to fill the hub the first time. After the first time it's "easy in and easy out" Also make sure...
Welcome aboard!
We have had our 4000 for 18 months and 8,000 miles. It has been a joy to own! The issues we have had have been super minor.
This forum has been a great tool to get info and avoid potential problems.
(search Tow Max Tires ASAP)
We are going to stay at Trailer Village on the south rim. They list spots for "short and long" RV's. I reserved a long spot ( I think they list long as over 28')
I am going to hope that works as we are just short of 44' plus the truck!
I am looking at the Bearing Buddy website and they claim bearing tear down / inspection needed only every 5 years which sounds pretty good to me.
I do have concerns about seal leaks from pressure inside the hub. Wondering if anyone has used them and do they work?
They go between the railing on your patio and the back of the trailer. the side with the rubber slides into a groove and the straps go around the aluminum tubing that forms we railings. It closes the gap between the back of the railing.
Try turning the battery switch on for extra power. Also if you have windows with blinds check to see that the cords are not stuck in the bunk tracks, This happened to us and jamb up the tracks
I have two tanks with auto switch and both tanks have a gauge that roughly tells you how much gas is left. When I open the tank valves the gauges go up to indicate pressure. When I close the tank valves the gauges slowly drop to zero over 10-15 minutes. This takes place without starting or...
Have two "black box"cams that I bought on Amazon last year one for work and one for personal car. They seem to work pretty well at the instructions were not real good but you can find better ones online
We have had our Cyclone 4000 since October of 2014 and have an ongoing issue with water. When I operate the front landing gear to lower the trailer water runs out of the passenger side front corner of the basement.(under where the generator is) It only happens after a rain. Both I and the...
That switch toggles the power between the living room a/c and the bedroom a/c. The switch prevents you from using all three a/c units at the same time.
On our Cyclone the Garage is powered all the time and the switch let you choose the living room or the bed room.
Make sure all you thermostats...
Our cyclone has a bend also. I use aa flexible wand same as John B and have good results. Also partially fill tank with black flush when dumping and that works as well
I'm sure that the shore power charges the 12 bolt battery on our cyclone 4000. Do you have a disconnect for the 12 volt?
if so I think it has to be on for the battery to charge
Re: Comanion settings on GM DRW
I totally agree. I use the manual mode to keep the trans from downshifting when coasting down a hill. I too fell the engines pain when it is screaming at 3500 plus!
Re: Comanion settings on GM DRW
I use the manual mode to keep the truck from downshifting to soon. I'm with the other guys who worry about over-revving. Manual mode gives you more control over the transmission. You don't have to stop to change modes. You can experiment with all the options to...
Re: Comanion settings on GM DRW
I have a 13 3500 DRW and I have also found that exhaust brake and trailer tow mode combined can be too much. I sometimes switch to manual mode to keep RPMs down.
Re: Comanion settings on GM DRW
We are 1 setting down from the top. King pin right over the axle. That should be a good starting point. We also have air bags on the truck which are good for fine tuning the ride ht. and quality depending on how you have the trailer loaded.
Our cyclone had a sticker on the original pin box showing the model number. I have a 5th airborne but the quality isn't very good. Poor paint air bag leaks. And some other issues. If I had to do again I would buy aTrail Air
We have had our 4000 since October of 2013. The rear ramp door started to separate on our first outing. Replaced under warranty no problem. Waste valves were labeled wrong. Figured that out on our own. Other than that it has been smooth sailing. I have called Heartland for tech support and got...
