    Camping World Wentzville

Before the Columbia store was a CW, it was highly respected as Loveall RVs for years. We shopped, but didn't buy, from Loveall's. I suspect many of Loveall's service staff stayed when it sold to CW. Good to hear you're having good experience there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Installing A Winegard Travl'r on a 4100 King

Mine was also as Jess indicated. However, not all coaches are prewired for the Travl'r. Originally, I thought it was only Landmarks, then maybe Big Horns. I could be wrong, but a call to Heartland would verify if your King is prewired. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk

    Rotating trailer tires

I think that is correct. The front tires on an auto or pickup are subject to different wear conditions due to the steering and front suspension mechanisms. Rotating front tires to the rear and vice versa extends the life of the tires considerably. Rotating trailer tires shouldn't hurt...

    Installing A Winegard Travl'r on a 4100 King

When I installed my Travlr earlier this year, I downloaded a copy of the coax schematic, but it was too ambiguous about the coax coil location for my taste so I called Heartland with my VIN and they told me exactly where to drill the hole in the roof. They were right on the money. The coil was...

Losing the weatherstripping on the slides (again)

I did this to mine a few weeks ago, as well. This begs the question, if this is the correct solution, and Heartland knows it is, why is it not installed this way on new coaches leaving the factory? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Bighorn - Blind Removal

Just removed one of our shades for restringing. Cookie is correct, you need to remove the valance, probably fastened to wall on sides and ceiling or bottom of storage cabinet at top. Then you should see (if you hunt for them) a screw near each end of top shade rail, fastening the blind to the...

    Heartland Service Center

This was taken June 22. I'd been across the street to pick up some parts. I think there were 2 or 3 Big Horns, a 365, and one or two others (probably your RW) in other bays. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

    Jayco becoming part of Thor.

I like that line of thinking. I'd also like to see dealers offering quality and timely non-warranty service similar to auto dealerships. Maybe the industry will mature into manufacturer-based dealerships like GMC/Chevrolet, Ford/Lincoln/ Mercury, etc. Probably not in my time. Sent from my...

Why are they called '5th-wheelers' ?

Horse-drawn wagons and buggies having 4 wheels and a turning front axle had mating steel plates or members through which a pivot pin permitted the front axle and wheels to rotate/turn as the horse(s) turned. This assembly of pivoting steel plates was called the "fifth wheel". This assembly...

    Is my Anderson valve bad?

I always thought the Anderson valve had to be set on "Normal" to draw from the tank, so I never tried running it from the "City" position. As I was unhooking from the city water this morning, I turned on the pump and got water out of the faucets and bathroom stool. I guess I won't be using the...

Exceptional customer service with SWC (pleated day/night shades)

Wish I'd known, we were through Goshen last week shortly after one of our day/night blinds strings broke. I ordered off Amazon for $24.99 and restrung myself in two or three hours (for a 4 string shade). Just curious, what was SWC's charge for rest ringing? FYI, I called Heartland CS and they...

No outlets on GFCI circuit work, won't reset

I would also suspect a short or loose connection in the wiring associated with the outlets/appliances protected by the GFCI. Since it was the fireplace that worked and then went off, that would be the first thing I'd check. If the GFCI is seeing 120v coming in, the problem wouldn't be the...

    Trailer tilting to one side

Tilting is normal, but make sure the weight on the slides doesn't overload the tires or axles. Invariably, one side is heavier than the other, usually the side with the fridge and kitchen storage. This is independent of whether the slides are in or out. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Titan Disc Brake Conversion DIY Install

Yeah. The setting depends on the controller you have. I have a stock Chevy controller and have it set on "8" for my 13 Landmark Key Largo with electric brakes. Stops ok for electric drum brakes. My understanding is that I would need to lower the controller considerably with disc brakes. Sent...

Titan Disc Brake Conversion DIY Install

From the 2 times I've heard Ron (the Titan Guy) talk, the motor that operates the hydraulic brake pump is electric, so the truck controller still "thinks" the brakes are electric. No adapter is needed. Just need to bring the controller down to nothing greater than a 4 (3 preferably), but don't...

I used to champion Heartland Service... now having doubts

Talked to a guy in the campground who was on his 3rd Heartland product and 2nd Bighorn. His first Bighorn had so many manufacturing defects, e.g. awning installed too low they couldn't open door all the way, rear window frame missing multiple screws, that I was shaking my head. Dealer solved...
