    Location for Installing EMS

I was able to pull enough slack in the cable to install the EMS in my BH. In hindsight, I should have bought wire. It would make it easier to remove the EMS. Ernie

    Running fridge on propane

Raemoore, the only problem with it running in your storage yard will be your battery. The circuit board in the fridge needs 12 volts. Your battery will only last a one or two days. Ernie

Brake problem....Don't know if this is the correct place to post, but here goes

I have had the same thing happen to my BH. Like Bob said, it's rust. As long as it one or two stops, i would not worry about it. If it is more, I would have it checked out. Ernie

Weatherization of a heartland key largo?

Before you go out and buy some new hose. Check behind the UDC where the pump is. On the older Heartlands they had hose in back for winterizing. Ernie

    Ford or Chevy

I would say Ford, but the best advice I can give you is that they both make good trucks that will pull the fifth wheel. Since you are buying at an auction, I would look at all the trucks up for auction and find the best ones to bid on, whether Ford or Chevy. Ernie

Looking for information on Truck Battery & Alternator...

I would charge the batteries and then have them load tested. It is very possible to have a bad battery. If you have true battery defect, it shows up right away. If you have a multi-meter, you could check the alternator output. You also should check the battery connections. As other have...

ATF: Prowler - Fresh Water Tank will not drain completely

I think all the manufacturers have this problem. When the tanks were mounted above the floor, it was not a issue. They all moved the tanks under the floor so there would be more storage and floor space. Ernie

    Strap came loose

I do not think I have ever seen a strap for a tank come off like that. I would call Heartland with your VIN. If you take it to your dealer, they may hold it for few weeks while they wait for parts from Heartland. I would get Heartland on the phone first before you go to the dealer. Ernie

    Accident

Sorry for your loss. As others have said, it's good to hear no one was injured. Could you have towed the trailer home? If you could have towed the trailer home safely, I would have brought it home. It makes it a lot easier to remove your belongings and extras that you put on the trailer. I...

    Fresh Water Hose

Thanks, everyone. I am similar to you, caissiel, I have had mine since 2002. I am not full-time, I'm a weekend warrior and one or two weeks a year. I also keep them sealed both ends and bring them inside in the winter. I just hate to spend money on something that is working fine. Ernie

    Fresh Water Hose

How long do you keep a fresh water hose? When I asked at the dealer, I was told two years. The ones I have do not leak. They hold their shape, so I think they are fine, but I'd like some other opinions. Thanks! Ernie

    Low Point Drain Valves

When I did some plumbing work, I put a valve for both low point drains with hot water bypass. I also left the valves that Heartland had on, so my low point drains are empty. This way they will not freeze up in cold weather. I bought the valves at Home Depot. I think I have some pictures and will...

Connections wanted for John Deere plant tours

Re: Connections Wanted I may be wrong, but I thought the tours were first come first serve. The pavilion is cool. When I was there, you could get in some of the equipment. Tire pressure

I would put more in the front. You do not want to run them low and have the tires overheat. On my F250, I keep 60 in the front and 55 in the rear when not towing. I put 80 on all four when towing. I got 93,000 miles on the factory tires before I needed to change them. I also never had a tire...

    stabilizer jacks

Hi, kellyboy, welcome to the forum. I'm not sure where the circuit breakers are at on the 2005 Landmark, but on my BH they are under red caps just above the battery. You may just have to trace the hot wire to feed them. They are circuit breakers that can be reset. If you have 12 volts at the...

    Slide out issue - RESOLVED

Re: Slide out issue It does sound like something broke. Could it be a shear pin that holds the drive gear to the motor? As far as the slide coming out when traveling, I'm not sure. I would find a way to get some heavy duty ratchet straps to keep the slide out from moving. Ernie

Shelving problem in the Edge M-22

A Good Reminder of the Value of a Progressive EMS

DeadGreg, were you at Pirolli? If so, I was the BH owner that talked you at the dump station. Looks like others have given you great advice. As far as the adapter from 50 to 30 amp, the adapter was only using one leg of the 50 amp. That would only give you 25 amps. Pirolli has been the first...
