Bob, we had this problem on our last BC. There is a cross-linkage running through the top of the front bay. Toward the door side, there is a 1/4" x 20 bolt through the linkage that sheared. I simply replaced the bolt and all was well.
Larry, have you checked the voltage coming into the trailer. If the voltage is low enough, it could be that the compressor is not working and the fan is just blowing hot air(kind of like many of the people you camp with!)
I purchased a piece of 6" PVC pipe and had some 1/4" threaded rod bent into u-bolts to fasten it to the frame rails. The pipe is large enough to accept the fittings and the elbow. I purchased two expansion test plugs for the ends. Some people have used vinyl fence posts with end caps on them.
Travel Supreme made luxury fifth wheels in their Wakarusa, Indiana plant from 1989 to 2008, with the model year 2009 coaches being the last ones prior to closing the plant.
Hi Liz. I was at the plant for parts this week. I was amazed at how many different styles of the same thing they have. Fortunately, I took pictures and measurements with me. They pulled the build sheet but many items were very generic. I worked with Deena in parts and she was very patient...
There is a track that is attached to the valance. The shades have a spring release of sorts that clips into the track. If you reach your fingers up between the valance and the shade, you will feel the track. Run your fingers along the track and you will feel the catches. There is a small...
An interesting note on bearing pack intervals. Ron Russell (Titan Disc Brake rep) owns a Redwood with the disc brakes. They did a test on it. He around 26,000 miles without packing the bearings. When they pulled the wheels to inspect them, they found that they were still well greased. The...
At one of the Heartland rallies, a Dexter rep did a seminar and said that the EZ Lube was the biggest mistake Dexter had ever made. He was adamant about cleaning, inspecting, and packing bearings the old school way.
Garry, fyi Roger and Judy Meyer and Charlie and Ronnette Mungle had to cancel from the Rally.
Edythe says we will bring pinwheels. I don't think she means the kind that spin.
I also added the valves to the overflows however I have a word of caution concerning that. I always opened the valves when filling the tank and when pumping from the tank and all was well. When connected to city water, I left the valves closed. This winter we noticed a huge lump in the...
I experienced a similar problem less the hot water issue. I found a bad Andersen valve. It was sucking air through the city connection. I plugged the city connection and it worked just fine. I replaced the Andersen cartridge and I no longer have the problem.
Jim, I am very interested in purchasing the Glow Step Revolution. As I read their flyer, it sounds like in order to receive the specials, (free shipping, presentation special, etc.), I need to wait until the seminar to order the product. Am I missing something here? What is your take on this...
We would like to send out a huge thank you to Larry and Gayle and the members of the Missouri/Kansas chapter for hosting this wonderful rally. We have had a great time despite some exciting weather. Your warmth and hospitality exemplifies what wonderful people you truly are. We hope to cross...
We are moving tomorrow so I will try to remember to snap a picture when we land. Erica, we will be in Goshen on the 6th. If you are going to be there, come on over and have a look. We are in the Northwest area.
I have snap pads and they work just fine. As far as the installation goes, you can purchase a kit that comes with three countersink bolts and the countersink drill bit to allow for a smooth underside on the foot pads for about $21 as I recall. I used the bolts that come with the bars and...
I went with the Steadyfast stabilizing system. It is much simpler than the JTs in my opinion. It uses three arms and is extremely easy to deploy. The installation was easy and took about 2 hours to install. I have the 6-point system and with the Steadyfast we are extremely stable.
I decided to make the move to smooth out the ride. I liked the Joy Rider system and the price. The were easy to install and we are very impressed with the results. We have pulled over some very rough roads since installing them but we are experiencing much less disarray in the cabinets and...
We arrived today and we think this campground is awesome. If you are looking for a fancy 5 star RV park, keep looking. This has gravel roads with gravel pads in beautiful trees. The staff is incredibly friendly and helpful. They have a nice pool and comfort station. We would stay here again...
I installed my Joy Riders two weeks ago. 2000 miles later and it was well worth the investment. It is no longer a war zone when we open the cabinet doors.
I replaced my stock shocks with the Joy Rider system. Oh what a difference!! We have about 2000 miles on them across Wyoming, Nebraska, Iowa, and Missouri. Many of these miles on roads almost as rough as the 99 in California. We have noticed that it is safe to open cabinet doors and the...
Frank, I had the same problem and it turned out to be the 50A manual reset mini breaker in the front bay. It had tripped and after I reset it all was well. It has an itsy, bitsy, teeny, weenie reset button on the end of the breaker. You will need to run your finger up the end of the mini...
Disconnect your shore power and remove the cover. If it is a junction box with 120 volt wiring in it, you could tie in a piece of romex and install an outlet.
