    Towmax blowout 2 days ago

My Blowmax blew and destroyed the other Towmax behind it. Had a GoodSam tire insurance policy, did not buy Towmax replacements, but rather MAXXIS (5), but they paid for equal replacements for 2 tires. I was happy. My damage to the rig was limited to sheet metal and a fiberglass fender skirt...

    ATF: Cyclone - mishap unhooking

I thought that's one of the reasons for J B Weld! I can't live without it. I made the mistake of putting the padlock on my hitch lever turned up so I could see the key hole...........dah, there is no clearance for my fiberglass cover...thus some good old J B Weld - bingo, good as new. Dan -...

Where are you going for Memorial Day weekend ?

Both my brothers served, (Air Force, Army) grateful to all who have served this country. Thanks for the reminder Keith, and safe travels to all. We are preparing to head north for 4 months, as snowbirds. Our first leisurely long trip with our 5th wheel. Bought it in NY last Sept. headed south...

    Tire info

Just put 5 Maxxis on our rig. O miles, but that will change in about 2 weeks. Headed North.... Also matched up GY Wrangler SRA's on the back with 2 new ones on the front of TV. I hope I can afford to spend the summer on the road now.:( Michelin had been on truck for 10+ years. Will be relaxed...

    It's been a while!

Ray - HR, Hidden Creek Village, on the dogleg of the 5th hole on the South Course. Headed out to Ohio et al and the grandchildren before too long. Ohio, NY, MA and parts in between. I'm just assuming the snow has all melted!

What did you do to your camper today?

Thought it would be a quiet day on the street in our gated community to find some shade to work on restoration of the decals etc. Washed & treated nose with 303 & some automotive super quick wax. Cleaned the roof & outside before the forecast rain came, 3 hours early! Will have to wait to apply...

    Cheap water meter

ON the other hand..........if you're buying water and getting a gallon but are only being charged for .6 of a gallon.....that's not all that bad of a deal, when you think about it. I sort of figure when the bucket runs over, it's full, but that's just me. Maybe a little too laid back...

    It's been a while!

The Blue Lagoon is a fun place & I was going to mention Galatti's but you found it! Vincent's has just opened here, have not tried their pizza (MY wife's is hard to beat) . We have lived in Sebring for 10 years as snowbirds (Highlands Ridge) & just got back into RVing with our 1st 5th wheel...

EVENT: Heartland Chapter Rally: FL, Marathon - 10/13/2017 to 10/15/2017

We've at least marked the date on our calendar. After Navarre (our first), looking forward to the next rally. Will know enough now NOT to eat the week before Rally time.............. Most enjoyable time. Trip home was a little too eventful, but don't expect to worry any more about...

Great responses, thanks to all. DougS - how cool is that idea..........no pun intended, but a great idea! Do you leave your frig running while on the road? (on propane?)

    Indoor/outdoor thermometer question

Being lazy.....I miss my indoor/outdoor thermometer that we have at home. I purchased a similar unit for our 5th wheel, where do you folks place your outdoor sensor? I know they recommend on a Northern location - like that might ever happen. Ideas welcome.:D

    Big Horn height

Erika - how many folks does it take to measure how tall a 5th wheel is? I see 7, and a camera man to document the event..............nice project, but none the less, necessary! Our Greystone is 13'2" tall and I consider that valuable information to remember.

    First Heartland Rally-First Towmax Blowout

Love "unsafe at any speed " comment! It's highly possible our recent Tomax failure was due to a nasty pothole on I-10 that I could not avoid. It was the leading tire that took the hit. Put on set of Maxxis tires yesterday, hope that issue is laid to rest! Have the new fender skirt, gas line...

Potential Buyer of MPG 185...Are there MPG Owners still active?

Labear - all manufacturers discontinue models for various reasons. "something new and improved" don't you know. Our Greystone was discontinue because it was a duplication of efforts (as I understand it). Greystone was a notch about the top of the Sundance, was produced on the same line etc. etc...

    Wanted: Heartland Edge M22

Tis the beauty of the internet. You can find out what is expected in the way of payment, even for a nice used unit. Good luck in your search, keep us posted. There are lots of opportunities to buy used units. RV Trader is also a good source to compare prices, both dealer and private sales!

dom1nation - I feel your pain. We had the same tires blow out on our way home from our first FL Rally at Santa Rosa Sound a couple of weeks ago. We had planned to put different tires on before we headed north at end of May, as snowbirds. Our damage was nothing compared to yours, and will be all...

What did you do to your camper today?

MP_CS I see you have a WilkinsRV sticker on your rig as do we. You must be closer to them than we here in FL. Bought our 5er at their Churchville location. It was under expansion construction, adding 6 more service bays, double what they had. Nice addition to your entry. Sometimes I think we...

Buckeye -- we were coming home from our first HOC Florida Rally in Navarre a couple of weeks ago, and had the same thing happen. Saw Dr yesterday to schedule one for me - 5/26 be my date. Am 74 and last one was 10 years ago, picked up my "med" in preparation today, can hardly wait, but it is a necessary thing to do. Good luck Jimtoo, let's see how bad this stuff tastes this time around, sure it's not better.

    Replacement parts

I too had a BlowMax go on the way back from our Florida Rally, I-10 east of Tallahassee. Called Heartland with the vin # and it was shipped yesterday to me in FL. Yes, shipping was nearly as much as the part, but I needed the fender and it is an over-sized item for UPS. My tire folded the one...

    Leaving Heartland Product

Sounds like a good deal to me, with the rallies, have your cake and eat it too, for $20. Wish you well in retirement. You'll wonder how you got all your work done while you were working...........it's worse when you retire. Been doing that for 10 years, and am busier than 15 years ago. Safe...

What did you do to your camper today?

Decided coming back to a dark rig could be solved. Lowe's had a dusk to dawn outside porch light on sale for $16. So I wired into the switched awning outlet high on the side. Included a 13 watt CFM bulb that gives off plenty of light. I had the foresight to seal the lens silicone so it would...

RV "Newby" concerned after looking at several Used RV's

Good advise all. We looked for 4 months before our purchase of a used 5th wheel. We decided after several weeks that it was going to be a 5th wheel, as we have a home in FL and will be staying summers in Ohio and Mass. near our 2 kids and grandkids. What did we need in the way of room for 4 1/2...

Electric ignitor for oven pilot light

GREAT question. I'll watch for those with far more wisdom than I on this one. We attended our first rally (great time) and used our oven (Magic Chef) for the first time...............I mean this is a 2011 and do not believe the oven was ever used! It set off the smoke detector until the "paint"...

    LED under carriage lights

travilin2 - you asked a question on "Tapatalk" about where I picked up the power for my step lights. Since our Greystone had a single yellow side marker for a step light switched inside, I used the existing wiring/switch to feed 12V power to the LED's. Pretty straight forward (he says after the...

What did you do to your camper today?

I feel your pain! I kinda lost confidence in the system I bought (don't ask me which one I have) after we came south last fall (1430 miles) parked the 5er in storage. ...got home and it was still giving me readings 1/4 mile from the rig? ??????? Sent from my LGL41C using Tapatalk
