You can't get to the back, but the front half of the refrigerator is accessible as is the bathroom and, if you don't mind crawling over the bed, the bedroom. In the year we have had the 3160, we have been fine with this arrangement.
Re: ATF: Landmark - level up systems keeps tripping 50 amp relay
Do you (or anyone) have photos of the breaker installed? I like the ones on the link, but will they fit my trailer?
3G and 4G are two different technologies. It has nothing to do with signal strength. If your carrier doesn't have 4G or LTE in the area you are staying, no antenna will fix that.
Re: Used pricing is crazy, How does the public find out auction pricing?
Used trailers and used cars are free market items. Most dealers use the auction value (not a book...they go to a dealer auction site and see what your unit went for most recently) since it means they can simply sell your...
On our 80psi we experience 95 to 97 psi on hot days. I think we set our TPM at 100 lbs on the high side and 65 on the low side. On a cool day starting out (outside temp 50 deg F) we get about 70 psi.
Our AC's both are very noisy. What's worse is that the fans never went to low speed...even when we tried manually. Heartland replaced both units. Since they did this after the hot weather, we don't know how much noise we will save. I agree that it is really horrid. I'm hoping the new units will...
We took the bed platform off and exposed the guts. I've attached pictures. There is a harness attached to the chain that snapped off. The threaded rod actually sheared off inside the connector. It also looks like the motor bent out away from the wall, though I can't be sure of that.
If you are talking about using satellite to get internet, you can't with your regular TV subscription. RV's really can't get Hugesnet, which is the DirectTV internet service since the dish has both a transmitter and receiver. An FCC license is required to aim a dish that has a transmitter. We...
That's really interesting. I guess I need to find out how to get to the pin. It seems that I might have to drop the bottom of the slide. If that's the case it may be beyond my abilities.
Guess it depends on your definition of luxury. Are you suggesting that I need to pay even more to get to a problem free 5th wheel? What is the threshold price?
I would feel better if it were something like that. Unfortunately, it was the bedroom slide (cable driven) and there are no obstructions. It's clearly something internal. I called Heartland customer service and they authorized my dealer to come out and do the needed. They can't get here till next...
We brought our 3160EL back from the dealer where 26 quality problems were corrected. We parked it in our side yard for the winter. I needed to get our DirecTV receivers out of the trailer to use in the house. I opened the slides. When I went to close the bedroom slide, it made a loud noise so I...
It's really easy to rationalize why quality is not very good. I'm sorry, but I spent a lot of money on my trailer and I have the right to expect it to be delivered to me without issues. We had 26 problems, 24 of them easily found if anyone (Heartland or the dealer) took the time to do a good...
Heartland, like every other RV maker has a standard "hours" chart for every fix under warranty. A repair shop usually has to submit a photo of the issue in order to get approval to fix. This is routine. the hours chart is usually not terribly generous and rarely matches the actual time for...
We bypassed the hot water heater since the hot water tank is a pressure vessel and has 12 gal of volume, which is way more than the entire rest of the plumbing. My thought is that displacing all that water is just more stress on everything and offers an opportunity for some to remain in the...
We have the 6 point level up and love it. I think it is my favorite option. We only popped once that we heard. I have the fork oil, but so far it hasn't been needed. Does anyone know what causes it?
We just blow the water out (bypass the HW tank and drain that by removing the anode) and then put antifreeze in the p-traps. No need for antifreeze in the water lines since there is nothing in them to freeze.
We have the sewer solution. Been using it all summer. It has never had a problem and has done a good job in uphill pumping. The instructions say it can pump up to 10' vertical rise (we never had to go that far). We have an extension (makes the hose 20') and it works like a charm.
I've noticed similar differences. Over the summer I have watched the temps carefully. In our case, the right side is often 10 degrees warmer than the left. Just as I was about to go, "Ah Hah!" the left side was warmer. I think it has more to do with the road. On a high-crowned road, the trailer...
We went the other way. We started with a Kodiak (not Heartland) TT. It felt "closed in" to us. Last February we walked through the Big Horn 5th wheel and it felt so open that we fell in love with it and at a big loss traded up. I didn't like the low ceilings in the TT. I am 6'2" and I always...
We have a 2014 BH3160. We have the dish on the roof, but I don't think the installer saw any evidence of a backer. It hasn't fallen off, so maybe he found it by accident. Our dish is mounted about a foot or so behind where the prewired cables come out. Are we close?
I think two large slides (kitchen, LR) would give a more open feel. Four recliners seems too much to me. I would replace the two on the off-door side with the entertainment center/desk/fireplace and put a couch on the back wall.
We found parks either had no wifi or horrible wifi. We got an ATT Unite Pro. It provides really good wifi for up to 15 devices. ATT has a great deal right now. We get 30GB of broadband, plus our two phones with unlimited talk and messages for under $200/month. We started with their 10GB plan...
Have you weighed the truck with the trailer attached? We have a 2014 F350 SRW. The rear axle carrying ability is not the critical number. It's your payload. Our rig has 2,300 lbs on the rear axle and a total load added to the truck of 2,600 lbs. If you do what we did and weigh with you and your...
Generator outlets, unlike campground pedestals, do not provide additional power by using more outlets. The 240V outlet probably is 30 Amps which is the capacity of your generator. Even if there is extra capacity, I have never heard of combining a 240V feed (two hot legs) with a 120V feed. At a...
We had very good luck with the Tailgater, even when there were a lot of trees. Our problem is that we are DirecTV customers at home and we had to pay all over again for the Dish programming. When we got our new Bighorn this past spring, we splurged and got the Trav'ler with DirecTV. We mostly...
