Water Pressure Rising -- REGARDLESS of Regulator

In a non RV application, we had this issue with a water heater. In a closed system, when the water is heated it expands. In our case we had a check valve to prevent water running back from the pipes into the hot water tank. We installed an expansion tank and all was well. It could be that the...

ATF: Big Country - Shower Door Handles have come off

The handle was on the floor when we first saw our BH 3160. The dealer lost it. It's there now and hopefully they will have gotten a new one and reinstalled it. Looks to me like this handle is a problem for a lot of us.

New 2015 Bighorn 3270RS Floor Plan

Thanks, Kary. Take a look at this. It is the last paragraph in the tire rack article: "However Goodyear Marathon and Power King Towmax STR tires featuring the ST size designation may be used at speeds between 66 and 75 mph (106 and 121 km/h) by increasing their cold inflation pressure by 10 psi...

    Resolution of AC Fan Issue

The idea is that the high fan is noisy (no kidding!) and the low fan is quieter. Also, as the room gets to the desired temperature (the thermostat handles this), when the thermostat senses that the room temp is withing 2 degrees of target, it signals the AC to go to low fan. This lets the room...

    Resolution of AC Fan Issue

This is interesting. I suspect part of my problem is that my fan has no "low". That may be the controller issue. I noticed that low didn't sound any different than high. Both are the same.

    My Ladder Broke!

Re: Asptsman There are two different threads here: One is the issue with the ladder being too flimsy to safely use. I have to agree. I bought a folding ladder after I put one foot on the one on our Bighorn. Sorry, just not safe as far as I am concerned. It surprises me that this particular...

    Resolution of AC Fan Issue

I just spoke to the dealer. First, I don't think that the fan speed changed at all when it went off and then on. The service manager said that the result of the diagnostics was that the control board was defective and was turning the fan on and off in error. That's what I figured to. Also, I...

    AT&T Data Sale on now!

I just called and got put on this plan. What you need to know is that this only applies to the 15GB/month and above plans. So, if you are on a 10GB plan, you will need to upgrade to 15. For us, this is a good deal. I use the ATT network all day at my office as well as when we travel.

New 2015 Bighorn 3270RS Floor Plan

Re: can't find floor plan for B 3270RS I just looked on the Heartland web site. The 3270 is listed and shows that it comes with LT235/85R16-G tires! Anyone know which specific tires these are? LT's, wow.

2014 CY 4000 - Anyone else's bathroom fan fuzz up the cable tv?

Take a look at the coax going to the cable/antenna connector as well (both ends if you can). It could be a poor ground there. You can easily buy 2 conductor, shielded wire at Home Depot or Radio Shack. Easy to install, not so easy to get a ground. The vent and fan aren't grounded directly...

    Resolution of AC Fan Issue

The dealer didn't share his diagnostics with me. The issue is that the fan goes on and off (compressor keeps running) while cooling. The fan turning off and on is unrelated to the thermostat which is still calling for cooling.

5th Wheel Pin Weights and Truck Payloads

The other thing you need to consider is that the actual load on the truck will exceed the pin weight by several hundred pounds. We measured the pin weight, truck weight, and trailer wheel weights. The pin weight for our Bighorn (loaded) is about 2300 lbs. However on the CAT scale, the actual...

    New Bighorn?

We have had no leaks at all with our 2014 Bighorn 3160. Our previous RV, a Kodiak TT, had leaks in every PEX joint. The entire trailer had to be replumbed. It was clearly a PEX tool that needed to be recalibrated.

Anyone having trouble with warranty work?

You know how to tell when a RV salesman is lying? His lips are moving. The truth is that Heartland is great on warranty. You can also use "fork oil" which is what I was told to use (Lippert document). Amazon sells it. It's primary use is for motorcycle forks. You can check with Lippert for details. Big Horn 3755Fl

We looked at the Pinnacle. It, at least to us, was the closest to the Bighorn in features and layout. Resolution of AC Fan Issue

Like others who have reported it here, our AC would turn the fan off and then on again every few minutes while cooling. Some members wrote about workarounds like putting the fan on manual. Water pressure . . . water filter . . . and water regulator question?

We have the pressure regulator after the filters. That way it won't get clogged and dirty. I am surprised at the muddy water at Maryhill. RVwaterfilterstore.com sells the sediment filters in sets of two, so I always have a spare in case we hit some water loaded with sediment. When we bought the...

2014 Bighorn 3010RE Fridge Won't Run on Propane

My understanding is that there is no problem leaving the fridge on propane when traveling. We have been traveling all summer...

Norcold Model 1210 refer frost on fridg fins and icing.

We have twin fans that clip to the fins. That keeps the temp even throughout the fridge. We also have a remote monitoring thermometer (on amazon) that tells us the actual temp inside the refrigerator and the freezer. We found that we had set the cooling too high. We get a bit of frost on the...

    Water pressure . . . water filter . . . and water regulator question?

I use the RVWaterfilters 2-house-sized filters (1 micron sediment and 1/2 micron carbon) with no real problems. Our pressure regulator is the 5gpm house type, not the low-flow RV type. I think, in general, the water out here in the West is cleaner since the parks we visit are newer and are well...

    QC on Heartland products
