It would be a big help to get them out. I just want to be sure I won't be damaging the coach and I can get them back in. I figure we are tilting about 10%.
Just got off the phone with lippert. The Level Up system will not allow the side jacks to operate manually if the coach is more than 5 degrees out of level. So I can not level. That leaves my initial question: Can I extend the slides?
I must be unclear. The auto levelling system refuses to let me manually lower the side jacks. I have the necessary blocks, etc. I just can't get the leveling system to let me lower the jacks manually. I set the controller to let me lower the jacks manually, but when I try, it tells me that the...
Battery is fine and the lippert leveling system reports 13.5 volts. I am also connected to shore power. The system won't let me override the jacks and lower them manually.
I don't see any way to override the controller. I have no sink foot things under the jacks and the landing gear isn't sinking. The problem is that I can't make the lippert leveler let me lower the jacks that need to go down.
The levelers will not operate at all when the coach is out of range. I tried. I can adjust the landing gear and I did to achieve front-to-back level. I was surprised that the jacks wouldn't work manually. I have the 6 point Lippert system.
Last night we brought the coach home from the dealer. It was there due to the muddy condition of our side yard. It turns out we were premature. We managed to get the coach in the yard but not quite in the right spot. The truck bogged down. I managed to unhitch and AAA towed the truck out. The...
I didn't think I would need to say this, but apparently I do: I am definitely a fan. Our new Bighorn is our second RV and one of the biggest purchases we ever made. We love everything about it. That doesn't mean we blindly accept quality problems. Because I am a fan of the company and its...
Our dealer, Fife RV, is amazing. We bought a Kodiak from them and now the Bighorn. They do a great job of taking care of us as customers. But they suffer from the same quality problem as Heartland: They expect customers to find problems. They fix them when we find them but they don't have a...
One more thing. I feel I am just wasting time suggesting this. I know that some Heartland managers read these posts, but they obviously assume we are just ignorant "campers" with pie-in-the-sky ideas. Professionals, like them, "know" that we want much more than we deserve. I think the people I...
Ok, this thread is endless and I have to agree that the TowMax are most likely substandard. I am new at this. After the huge investment in our Bighorn, there isn't much left for anything else. What is a reasonably priced tire we can use to replace our TowMax?
I have to chime in here. It is NOT the customer's responsibility to discover quality problems. It is up to the manufacturer and, by extension, the dealer. I am not an expert at RV's. I am someone who likes to travel with one. I paid a lot of money for my trailer. I have every right in the world...
I don't think that is correct. The sound bar is connected to the TV of course and to the power. It works. I just can't find the subwoofer. This soundbar always comes with a subwoofer. I have the fireplace and that reduces the opportunities to locate it. It has to be somewhere!
I use Crash Plan. I can go back as far as I want. Not to mention that everything is always backed up. I keep 100% of my files on skydrive (OneDrive now), but my pictures are all in DropBox. Skydrive compresses pictures. DropBox doesn't. You can inexpensively buy extra storage on both.
Re: ATF: Bighorn - 120 volt hook up
Great info, Dan. Cheap extension cords are the devil here. I use a #10 100ft cord to my coach. (I did electrical work years ago). Ground faults in our trailers could also be caused by the fact that we don't have a real earth ground in our electrical system...
Re: ATF: Bighorn - 120 volt hook up
Dan,
Do you have any idea why this happens? Of course, at home we don't put GFI's on all circuits. Is there something we can do to bypass this?
From an earlier thread I learned that the incandescent lights in our Bighorn 3610 are 921's. After a lot of web searches, there are hundreds of LED lamps that say they work as 921's. Has anyone got specific LED bulbs they are using that fit and do a good job. I want to replace the basement...
We saw our Bighorn 3160 at the Seattle RV show. We had decided to go to the show just to look around. My wife loves exploring floor plans. Last June I surprised her by buying a Kodiak 27 ft travel trailer. I had never been in an RV before, well not exactly; I looked through some at a small fair...
Given that this problem seems to only occur in some coaches, it may well be that a batch of fixtures had issues. We had every light in the coach on and both TV's were fine from the antenna. Since the antenna is amplified where it comes in, signal strength shouldn't matter. By the time it gets to...
Last summer in our TT we went through some truly heavy storms where the rain was so loud we could hardly carry on a conversation. The frameless windows didn't leak at all. We had no problem opening or shutting them. They were one of the few problem-free parts of our Kodiak.
According to the printed instructions that come with the v4 lock, it is necessary to press the lock or unlock button on the key fob for at least two seconds. This is intentional to prevent accidental "pocket unlocking."
This problem may be related to a specific shipment of the LED lights. When I did the walkthrough of our Bighorn 3160EL, we had the both tv's on using the antenna. All of the lights in the coach were on. Reception (digital) was fine. This may be a problem that just needs to be addressed on a...
Erika,
I don't feel attacked. I am just impatient with too much acceptance on the part of our community. We tend to be nice people who are not comfortable demanding anything. I am learning not to be that way. Just because the auto industry makes 60 million cars a year, it doesn't mean that a...
RV's more complicated than a car????? Really? The engine of a car has more parts than 2 RV's of any size. RV's are very simple systems with a relatively few parts. It is perfectly fair to compare the RV industry to the car industry. You are incorrect in your assumptions. How a car is assembled...
As a customer, I am not really concerned about where the work is done. I want the product I receive to be defect free. If car companies choose to pay dealers to do the "last mile" of QA that is fine with me. I'm sure they worked out the costs and have determined that is the best route. If...
