    Light Bulb type

Our new 3160 is stuck at the dealer getting work done. It has LED lighting in the coach, over the front door, and under the awning. However, all of the lights in the basement, front compartment, universal docking compartment, and outside are standard RV incandescent lights. Does anyone know the...

    3160 EL PDI Results

Sadly, I think you have it right. What concerns me is the prevailing attitude that we should expect low quality. You are right that given the current demand and overall lack of commitment to quality, we will continue to see obvious quality problems in our new coaches. Should we expect...

    3160 EL PDI Results

In fairness, the frame wasn't totally unpainted. They missed the axles and some of the center. Rust formed. It surprised our dealer too. I think that the inspection process in the plant needs some serious work. Our issues weren't subtle at all. The pantry/laundry door wouldn't latch, neither...

    Black tank flush in UDC

I didn't realize that the black flush has an anti-siphon valve. I have one that I bought and attach to the flush hose. It can't hurt to have two, I guess.

    Do you need it?

We are heading back to Yellowstone this year. We will buy some "bear spray". It's extra strong pepper spray and will do the job if a bear attacks. Mountain lions almost never attack humans, but if one does go after you, you better have your gun drawn and be a **** good shot. They move very fast...

    Do you need it?

For the record, I don't carry any firearms. I do wonder at this post. Would you really kill someone because he was stealing your barbecue? Even grand theft doesn't carry the death sentence. This thread is very interesting. Here in Washington a carry permit is available if you don't have a...

    3160 EL PDI Results

I've always gone with the theory that if you buy from the largest dealer around you have a better chance of getting results. Fife RV is Washington's largest RV dealer. You don't get there by giving bad service. This is our second RV from them and they continue to take very good care of us.

    B&W slider or stationary???????

I have the companion with no slider. I'm new to it too so I don't know how good a decision I made. Our 5ver is a Bighorn with a patented curved front that the manufacturer says I can make an 88 degree turn with my short bed. That seems like enough to me.

Thanks so much! By the way, if you get the ACE locks, they sell a backing plate that will cover some of that damage. I am off to order my locks! Thanks.

    Cam lock dimensions

The slam doors I was told during my walkthrough are the 751's. I will verify, but I am pretty sure that's true. I know that the little plastic door on the cord retract is not secure in any way. I just want to avoid using 2 keys. In my last TT the proliferation of keys drove us nuts. This time I...

    Cam lock dimensions

We want to replace our CH751 cam locks. I can't believe Heartland uses them. Even our inexpensive Kodiak used G locks. Anyway, our coach is at the dealer for a while. I figure that while waiting for the weather to dry up (our yard is flooded where we store the coach) I could order new cam locks...

    Missing Features?

UPDATE I spoke with HL customer service. Boy am I impressed! Two good things: the first is that my dealer realized that the front door light should be motion sensing and had already ordered a replacement (unfortunately wrong part number, customer service is correcting). Cust svc said that the...

    Missing Features?

We did our walk through on our 2014 BH 3160 last weekend. Some features appear to be missing based on what my understanding of what is included: No keyless entry. I thought a combination door lock is part of the package. No motion-sensing entry light over the door. Just a LED strip with no...

Towmax by Power King – Facts

I may have this all wrong, but in terms of high speed tires for sports cars as well as luxury cars, as the sidewall height is reduced (low profile), the sidewall stiffness is increased. This reduces flex and heating, but has the penalty of a harsher ride. If the same rules apply to ST tires, if...

ATF: Bighorn - 3160 EL Mystery coax jumpers in the bedroom closet

Given that the coach has a high profile bedroom AC (both AC's are black on a white trailer - strange), is there any way to confirm where the cables are buried in the roof?

ATF: Bighorn - 3160 EL Mystery coax jumpers in the bedroom closet

It's possible, but massively surprising. My coach was built at the end of January. Not much I can do about it, but it disappoints me that it isn't there. It is really needed.

is is that really my job? I spent a ton of money on a brand new Bighorn. Am I being unreasonable to expect the doors to close? I am sure that your suggestion could work. 3160 EL PDI Results

ATF: Bighorn - 3160 EL Mystery coax jumpers in the bedroom closet

We did our PDI and had a chance to figure out the mysterious bedroom closet wiring. It turns out the antenna power booster is in the closet. The two RG6 that are jumpered connect the antenna to the bedroom TV. The remaining RG 6 jack appears to be the sat feed from the basement. There is no HDMI...

In the market, in a while (Bighorn).

We just bought a Bighorn. Our dealer's service manager told us that not one of the Bighorns they have sold in the last three years have come back for warranty service. This is the largest RV dealer in Washington. That is good enough for me.

    ATF: Bighorn - Levelling question

Thanks, Dane. That's what I thought too. I am hoping someone from Heartland will reply so that I can use the post (or hopefully a call from the factory to the dealer) to require the dealer to fix this issue. Since he hasn't done his PDI yet, maybe it will be corrected before I go back next week.

    ATF: Bighorn - Levelling question

As I said in my question, the trailer is at the dealer's shop. I visited it there today. I can't take pictures or change anything. It is 25 miles away. I just want to confirm that we don't inherit a problem caused by improper use of the 6 way leveling system. I also don't understand how the...

6.7 powerstroke, what gear to pull in

X3. Just put it in tow/haul and the computer will take care of it. If you downshift on hills (going down, let the computer take you up), in tow/haul mode you get the compression braking as well. Cruise control is programmed to do all that for you in tow/haul. It will stop working if the...

    ATF: Bighorn - Levelling question

Our 3160 is still at the dealer waiting for a slide topper. We were there today and had to visit it. I noticed that the trailer was leveled and the curbside wheels were off the ground a bit. Hidden Satellite Receivers and your remote. A $50 solution

Thanks so much for pointing this out. I checked my receivers, and sure enough they too work on RF. DirecTV still insists that only the Genie will do RF. Thanks to your discovery, we now know that is wrong and you have saved me work I no longer have to do. Thank you!
