i checked with Heartland. The jacks support the frame so there isn't a risk of bending. My BH has a 12" frame.

Some Direct TV issues I have found plus a question or two.

DirectTV only uses 3 locations now. They stopped using 5 some time ago. The new Winegard Trav'ler 3, only hits 3 birds and gets all HD and SD. It's unclear to me about locals.

    Forum Understanding and Clarity

RVnet is owned by Camping World/Good Sam. I had an issue with CW and Marcus the CEO personally cleared it up. It has a very varied audience as does this site. I've been in the Internet business for 15 years and know a good deal about forums. This forum and RVnet are very similar. The ratio of...

    We're new 3260 Owners...

Good point. Who selected the appliances? Was it you? Maybe I shouldn't think of the trailer as a vehicle but as a house. Maybe I expect too much from Heartland. I do, by the way, appreciate the list of vendors.

Towmax tire blow outs, Heartland may want your tire

That makes a lot more sense. I got the original number from this forum. Still, the tires (barely) exceed axle ratings.

    We're new 3260 Owners...

For what it's worth, I think that much of the pain from poor quality control comes from the fact that Heartland glues a long list of their suppliers on the inside of one of our cabinets and expects us to chase warranty claims on components of our trailers. In the case of the microwave, you were...

Towmax tire blow outs, Heartland may want your tire

The more I read, the more concerned I get. Apparently, it is not a giant problem the first year or two (5,000 miles). However, without the emotion, a few things seem apparent: The Towmax tires have an exceptionally high load rating (3,900 lbs). This is the same as a typical G-rated tire. Our...

    Satellite hook up.

We set up directv with no trouble at all. Camping World installed a Trav'ler. I made two 8 inch jumpers that go in the UDC and connect the two connectors in each dual Fconnector outlet. Thanks to Dan, I learned that my DVR's can work with RF remotes and I programmed the directtv remotes so I...

Max extension cord length for 120V 20A home use?

Volts times amps = watts. If the voltage drops (you can only observe that under load), the amps go up. If you want to minimize voltage drop, use a 10 ga. Extension cord. We hav a 100ft one to our trailer.

Making sense of the tire talk

Ok, several people have mentioned going to a 17.5" wheel and LT tires. I don't know much about this. I looked at our Bighorn and the axles seem pretty close together. Is there room to mount the larger wheel/tire?

Towmax tire blow outs, Heartland may want your tire

I've noticed that the load rating of the Salion load range G tires is 3750 lbs. Doesn't the Towmax load range E tire have the same load rating? How does that work? I thought the load rang G tires would carry more weight.

Tow Max Blowout and Cyclone Damage

Did your coach come with LR E Tow Max? I thought that Landmarks came with LR G G614's. The thing is that just because the trailer puts less than the limit on the tires, doesn't mean that your trailer is safely within limits. If the tires have a combined capacity of 15,000 lbs and you have...

Making sense of the tire talk

This is the kind of statement that has absolutely no basis in fact. How do you know the manufacturing quality of the Tow Max is lower than the LT? As the OP I have to say that there is a lot of emotion regarding tires. I've learned that. What else I learned is that chances are good that those of us with heavy (over 10k lbs) towables are pushing the load capacity of load range E tires. What we haven't learned is whether the tires our...

Making sense of the tire talk

TST has a video on installing their TPMS that discusses temps. They cite a Michelin study that they use for setting the default danger temp for tires. On the track, tires need to be hot. The rubber works best when the tires are hot. The compound needs to be a certain temperature to have the...

Making sense of the tire talk

My main takeaway besides proper speed and inflation is to recognize that a wide margin of load versus tire capacity is going to seriously reduce risk. If your trailer weighs over 10,000 lbs loaded consider moving to a load range F or G.

Making sense of the tire talk

I've discovered that guys who work at tire dealers are not experts at all. They don't have the training. The Goodyear recommendations are echoed by every tire maker. If you start out cold at 73PSI, you are almost 10% under inflated. That will reduce the tire's load capacity substantially. Even...
