I have a 2014 3500 CCLB SRW and get 10-13 pulling my Sundance. There isn't much difference in the price of a 2500 vs 3500. I would go to 3500 for the extra payload. Just traded my 12' 2500 so I would have more wiggle room on payload for the future. As mentioned above, you get an extra 1500 lbs...
What year is your truck. My 2014 Ram 3500 SRW has a payload of 4,400lbs with long bed and 3.42 rear end. I would consider that not all passengers go into the payload but some will transfer to the front axle. My rear axle is rated at 7,000lbs. You should tow it fine but you should research the...
You can go up to the 3500 SRW and have around 4400lbs of payload. That is what I just did. Not mention difference in the ride of the two trucks.

Thanks again. Do you ever look at the cummins forums? I browse over there trying to learn as much as I can on these trucks.

I did look at a 2015 3500 DRW truck this week while traveling and did notice that it had a different rear differential cover on the Aisin. I do believe the 3500 in DRW has a larger 11.8 rear vs the 11.5 in 3500 SRW. That could be where the difference.
Thanks for helping a newbie learn more...
Now you have my curiosity up and maybe you can help answer this. Why would the Aisin in SRW have almost 4000lb less towing capacity than the DRW?
I am looking at this from the same perspective of the difference between the SRW and DRW with 3.42's towing capacity being almost the same. I...
I stand corrected. I was looking at the 68RFE not the Aisin. I didn't realize there was that much difference between the two Transmissions. Glad you pointed that out.

Yes I agree. I like the truck you ordered and I think you will love it. I drive mine a lot as a daily driver therefore I felt the Aisin was overkill for me. We only tow on weekends and vacations so I felt the 68RFE was good for us. If I was towing all of the time, I would have done just what you...
SRW only have 3.42's but DRW's can have either 3.42,3.73, or 4.10 from what I have researched on ram's website. I just got a 3500 14' a month ago and debated all of the differential options but I preferred a SRW and in the end it has more towing capacity than the DRW with 3.42's. Payload is...
I put Duravis R250 235/85/16 on my Sundance. The tires are closer together than the towmax. I had about 2500 miles on the TowMax before 1 blew. Not sure you will have room for the chocks.

I bought one from camping world. Don't remember the brand but looks like a firehouse. It never kinks and is expandable like a fire hose. Works great!! I actually purchased two of them.

Have stayed there a couple of times. The guy in the Big Horn I believe works there. Both he and his wife. Both very nice people.

I just traded my 2012 2500 CC SB with a pullrite slider. My 12' was a tradesman. This truck I opted for 2014 3500 CCLB SRW Big Horn with 20" tires. Had the dealer install a 25k B&W hitch with puck mounts. Also added steps and bed liner. The 2500 had 3.73 but SRW in the newer models is only...
I just got a 2014 3500 CCLB with 20" tires. Had the dealer install the factory prep with a B&W hitch. Came from a 2012 ram with 17" tires. My sundance King pin is at its lowest notch. Mine sits level as I did with 2012 ram. I too worried about it but it was all ok.

My 2014 Ram 3500 came with 20" wheels. I to worried about the "nose high" but to my amazement it sat perfect with a new 25k B&W hitch. I went from a Ram 2500 short bed with a slider hitch.
I have 8" of bed clearance and everything is level. I do have my kingpin at the lowest point.

Given that I have little knowledge of the F100 I have a couple of questions.
1) if the hitch is behind the axle, will there be enough weight on the front axle to keep contact of the tires to the road on a bumpy road
2) will you have enough turning clearance around the pinbox to the cab of the...
Hate to say it but I joined this club 4 weeks ago. Changed the tires but camper is still having work finished on it. So far, Heartland is helping with labor on changing the springs and lippert replaced the springs even though camper was out of warranty.

I have my first Ram a 2012 2500 CTD. I have had no issues with 33000 mikes. Pulls my Sundance very well. I have been very impressed with the motor and exhaust brake. The interior is perfect for our family with CC. The most common issues I have seen on the cummins forum on the newer models was...
I let me wife drive. She pulled her own pop up before we married. She has driven a couple of our trips and I let her back into our storage lot. She does great plus she has peace of mind knowing she can get it home if something happens to me.

When my Towmax failed a couple of weeks ago, I went Bridgestone Duravis R250 ribbed tire. LT235/85/16. It has a lower load rating but is equal to the axles and spring. Also found out that 3 of 4 springs were considered flat. Lippert is replacing the springs and Heartland is paying the labor to...
I tow my Sundance that weighs about 12k with a 2012 Ram 2500 6.7 CCSB and get anywhere between 10.5 and 12.5 depending on the terrain. All stock!!

Not sure if it is relevant but in my experience in the HVAC world, if the furnace cycles off and on but the blower continues to run. There maybe a problem with the heat exchanger in the furnace. Could be a crack allowing ambient air into the furnace. I would recommend checking with a CO detector...
I have the 2013 Model 3400 qb. It maybe the switch to operate the awning lights. Their is a receptacle above the kitchen window outside. Might check that!!
