In NC, you are exempt with a fifth wheel camper as a recreational vehicle.

I tow with 14' Ram 3500 SRW with 20" factory wheels. I didn't have to adjust anything.
I think you should be good to go.

Re: Nashville/Memhis
As your driving from Nashville to Memphis, stop for a meal at mile marker 143. Place called the Log Cabin restaurant. It's the same exit to Loretta Lynn's ranch. Nice people and great food.

We have been a couple of times during Labor Day. Usually can only get water and electric hookups but it's a friendly and fun area for the kids.

In 3 years of ownership in NC, I have never seen one on a towable. I have seen them on a Motorhome. Check the registration to see if as trailer? If so, I would say it's a mistake.

I would go with the floor plan you want since your full timing. You will have to plan ahead to make sure sites are available with the space you need. You definitely have the truck so get the floor plan you like. I can't see that 2' will matter much in the long run.
My other thoughts were you...
I lost a towmax with less than 2k miles on a Sundance around 13k. I don't think it has much to do with weight as it does the tire itself. I put Bridgestone Duravis 235/85/16 on mine after loosing the first tire.

Re: Time for some new blood around here?????
I have never had a comment deleted. I do think the merit of your question needs to be addressed in all areas of customer service. I have been a salesman for 20 plus years and prior to that a customer service manager. We look at customer complaints as...
Yes I have seen that before. Couple of differences, the GD has a 1/2 bath in the rear and a theatre seating in the kitchen/living room area. But I like the BC too. Just like having the extra 1/2 bath in the back.

Is Bighorn looking at any new floor plans. We came upon a Grand Design model we found very interesting. Look at their new models 366 and 365 DEN. Lots of positives reviews from recent RV shows. It has a nice separate DEN in the rear that can also be used as a bunk room. Also in the kitchen area...
Sounds great. I don't worry about winter covers here in NC. I did install the heater cord for those rare cold mornings. Our lowest temp this season has been 10. I added the Tri fold cover to keep the hitch under cover during the offseason. Folds up nice when hooking up!! Can't tell you how many...
I choose the 3400 as well. My 2012 ram 2500 CTD pulled the trailer fine. My 12' had a GVWR of 20k. With this combo I was at the max. It will work and pull and stop the trailer well. However, looking toward the future I upgraded to a 14 3500 SRW. It gives you 25k GVWR. So you have more wiggle...
As an owner of of 2013 3400 we have enjoyed ours. There have been a couple minor issues that have been fixed. The biggest was the blow max tires that we changed last year after a blowout. The kids love the back bunk and gives them A space to play when the weather isn't great.

Florence RV park is south of the state line in Sc. Use to be a KOA. Very dean and easy on and off the interstate. We stayed there for 3 nights last year. Lot of permanent sites but does have plenty of transient sites.

I have had no steering link recalls in either my 12 or 14 Ram. No Cel recalls either but most I remember on the Cels from Ram was on the radio.

No Chevy recalls on trucks but my daughters car spent 2 months at the dealers getting recalls worked on. Always was a Chevy guy but turned me off to them
