    Water Down the front cap

Wow..sorry about that issue! That is definitely water intrusion! It is not an uncommon problem in that area. Like you...there ws no obvious signs of a problem until the wrinkles showed up. I doubt the leak is from the pin box trim...our Big Country doesn't even have trim there! I would look...

    Bubbles in the Rubber Roof

Most EPDM and TPO roofs will have some bubbles/wrinkles, at least every rig I have had did and so do most of my friends rigs. Definitely keep and eye on it and if it begins to get larger, I would take it to the dealer. Sometimes after the gases from the adhesive dissipate they may even shrink or...

    Water Down the front cap

The metal trim that runs from the front of the cap back under the bedroom and curves down the front has a colored vinyl insert (usually white). It is used to dress up the molding and cover the screws. If you remove te insert (easy to do) you can access the srews that hold the molding in place...

    Water Down the front cap

It could be leaking from many different areas but I can tell you what the issue was with our Big Country. Our front cap leaked creating the waves and buckeling you speak of under the bulkhead and on the front of the storage area. I resealed every part of that cap, all the lights etc. It still...

    Campfires

We seldom build a campfire but I do appreciate the ambience, usually the smell, and the solace a crackling campfire provides for many people (not to mention the hotdogs and smores). I do prefer camping neighbors with the propane fire pits but I can always close my windows and vents if a...

Oxidized faded front cap on greystone

Very common problem! Be sure to get it taken care of immediately! I treated our cap with Rejex which delayed the fading process quite well for a couple of years...downside is I am now out of warranty and the cap finish is starting a quick self-distruct! Looking at a $2000+ job to restore.

    Wax/cleaner

Maguires makes very fine products! I remember back in the 70's I got hooked on the "Mirror Glaze" step process for my 510 BRE Datsun. Flagship is another great product. For those that have newer rigs and don't need a cleaner wax and not fighting oxidation, I am still a believer in Rejex. I have...

    Rodent protection

    Roof Cleaner

I too use either Dawn or Blue Coral which ever I have handy. EPDM and/or TPO does not need protectant or other preparations per manufacturer. A simple cleaning is adequate. I have in the past used a 50/50 mix of Spic n Span and Murphys Oil Soap (vegetable based) with good results.

    3055RL Help

First...welcome to the forum! Regarding RV covers...there are many opinions about their use. We too debated for a long time when we purchased our Big Country. In the end, we knew of several people who had chaffing issues around the roof area and dulled gelcoat from covers rubbing in the wind...

    Best sealer?

I have used it...great sealant! The only problem I had with it is in our area it must be mail-ordered and...it was expensive ($11.00 or so a tube plus shipping). 505UV is not recommended for EPDM or TPO.
  28. SJH

    Best sealer?

Thats a great question and I have no answer! I simply tape the end of the tube. This works good for a week or so but any longer and I am digging out the tip with some wire! So far, I have been able to reuse all my tubes but it can get messy if I let them sit too long.

    Best sealer?

I have spent way too much time researching sealants...still don't have a definitive answer but I can share some thoughts. Not intending to be argumentative or demeaning to OSI Quad products, they work well and come in numerous colors, but their tech data sheet listed some limitations that kept...

    Greystone Paint color

Again...I am not sure what color the Graystone is exactly but it is a great match for the very light gray (which Heartland calls Platinum) on our Big Country. I think the can was only $4.00 or so...buy one and try it on something else and see if it dries different than what the cap shows.

    Greystone Paint color

Hello Jeff! Not sure what color you need or how close it is to our Big Country "Platinum" gray but I found a can of Krylon Indoor/Outdoor Pewter Gray that is an excellent match.

    Can I safely pull this?

I think the pin weight will be closer to 3000. For a close "guestimate" use about 18% of the trailer GVWR for pin weight.

    Axle Alignment Service

Funny you should say that...the local SOB dealer said they send all their alignments to Everett! I have a truck repair facility 1/2 mile from my home but none around here work on towable rv's. Still a few more to call!
