Interstate 59 in Alabama North of Birmingham, closed and routed to a lane in the Southbound side.

I just traveled that route, going south on Jan. 1 and returning northbound on Mar 1. The northbound lane is not all that bad but the southbound side is absolutely horrible. Thought I would loose a kidney before we got through it. Bypass it if you can.

    Please explain PDI

When I went to pick my rig up the dealer had it completely prepped with water in the tanks, frig on with ice made in ice maker, furnace running etc......you get the picture. All systems had already been checked out and still in operation for us to observe. Great prep work by dealer which led...

    BH 3055 Tires

Pete, Yes, the Maxxis tires I bought was the M8008's. Ironically, the tire dealer I bought them from is a Goodyear tire dealer/store. He had to order the Maxxis tires as he did not carry them in stock and he did say that he sometimes goes through periods that he cannot get them. What was...

    Slide delamination??

All three of our slides on our 07 3055rl had the exposed 1/4" of plywood in the slide flooring. I noticed an area of water absorption in the bedroom slide the first year we had the unit so I caulked all three slides along the exposed area. I have not seen any further damage and it has been over...

    BH 3055 Tires

I ran my OEM Karrier Loadstars for 15,000 miles on my 3055rl. I replaced them due to some cracking between the sidewall and tread cap; however, my tire guy basically said that it was not serious. Nevertheless, I replaced them with E rated Maxxis for $600 mounted, taxes......out the door. To...

in-wall wiring safe for electic space heaters?

Brad, There is always the exception and we are one of them. For some reason, we had our wires burn completely up this winter in a junction box under our slideout when running a ceramic space heater. The breaker did not trip, and the other outlets on the circuit remained hot. I still do not...

    Dealer Question?

We purchased our unit from them in the fall of 2006. Our experience with them was good during the sale and with warranty issues after the sale. I certainly would buy from them again and would recommend them to others.

Is it a Heartland issue or a dealer issue? I'm getting conflicting messages.

IMHO any dealer that tries to slip in a charge for a PDI at closing is untrustworthy..........the same as a car dealer trying to slip in those "Prep fees" at signing. In all cases I will walk away from the deal!

    Electrical Problem

Gerhdo, I believe the circuit you are talking about should be a 12 volt circuit. If it is not one of the 12 volt fuses, try checking for a loose grounding wire.

Be careful with your space heaters

Although the fireplace in my coach is on a dedicated circuit it is still on a 15A circuit. By this criteria, does it mean that the 15A circuit is inadequate for the fireplace?

Be careful with your space heaters

We just had an incident last weekend with our wiring. The wiring in the junction box under the dining area slide burned completely out. This junction box is for the one outlet in the slide. The only thing on this outlet was a ceramic heater so the circuit should not have been overloaded. What is...

    Rear Window Gasket

gasket Mine did the same thing and the techs at the rally fixed it. All they did was pull it completely out down to the bottom on the side that has pulled loose and then press it back into place starting at the curve and working down. It is caused by shrinkage so after you reinstall it there...

Where is a good jacking point for my cyclone?

Curiousity Question I was just wondering why Lippert's manuals adamantly say do not put jacks under the axle. The entire units weigh is sitting on top of the axles so if a block of wood is used on top of the jack spreading the stress point out a little from the small jack tip, what is the...

    Shower Door Problem

TwoHands, My 07 3055 is exactly like that. At first I also thought the strip had broken but if you look, there is a short piece at the top identical to the bottom; so, I believe the short pieces are inserts to keep the longer strip in place.

    Rear window seal

Mine was doing that also and the repair is simple.....they showed me at the rally. Just pull it all the way out down the side, push it back up in place and press it back in. It will leave a short gap at the bottom due to the seal itself shrinking (thats was caused it to come loose). I actually...

    Is plumbing system heated ?

If your unit is anything like mine, it only takes about 15 minutes and two gallons of antifreeze to winterize your unit. To run the furnace for any length of time just to keep the lines from freezing could be an expensive tasking versus the antifreeze. For instance, I do not full time but I do...

Anybody's unit ever Flood on them :(

I had somewhat the same experience as Jay. We had a freeze warning one night a few years ago so we decided to trickle the water all night rather than fill the fw tank and disconnect our hose. I also closed the gray tank valves so the sewer hose would not turn into a block of ice. I had no...

Jim, I have lived here in Crossville for 3 1/2 years now. I retired from St. Louis and moved here. It is a small retirement community and is considered the Golf Capital of Tennessee. Obviously the golf, the cost of living and the mild climate is the attractive aspects for retirees. As far...

    Trailer Tires Explained

Maybe I have my head in the sand but I really have a hard time justifying the price of the 614's. I have just replaced my "China Bombs" of 15,000 miles with Maxxis M8008 (made in Thailand) that seem have a very good reputation around all forums. According to various literature from tire...

    Portable Potable Water Tanks

Due to the issues some of us have with the amount of water needed in our tanks before the pump will pick up and the difficulties of draining them completely, I am thinking of rigging a 5 -7 gal. portable tank in the basement and using the antifreeze tubes for the pick up. This will provide water...

    leak when flushing black tank

    Replacement Tires

Cdnrver, I ran my "china bomb" loadstars for 14,000 miles without incident. I just replaced then with Maxxis M8008 (also foreign made) due to excessive wear on one of the tires. A friend is still running his Missions on his SOB and have approx 12,000 miles without incident. I believe that if you...

    Excessive tire wear

I had a similar problem except the rear tire wear was only on one side. I have not had the unit aligned yet. It seems that if it is the alignment it would wear on both sides (the tire wore evenly across the tread ruling out camber). I am thinking that as it is only one tire it could be that...

    Plumbing nightmare

Bob, I'm not talking about licensing fees, titleing fees, etc. Many dealers tack on a "Documentation Fee" that is their money. Here in Tenn. I have seen it as much as $500 at some dealerships and $0 at others. When I was in Missouri it was the same way. I walked out of a dealership a couple...

    Plumbing nightmare

If a dealer tried to charge me for a PDI I would run off those premises as fast as I could; the same as I have done at auto dealerships for those trumped up exorbinate "Documentation Fees" that some have tried to slip into the sales contract. Those tactics just prove to me that the dealer is...

    3055 Weight Distribution

Deep down this is my suspicion also; however the left rear wore evenly across the tread pattern which sometimes can indicate a weight issue. But the front left wore on the inside from the last tread pattern inward, which could be a camber issue. The China bombs have 13,000 miles so there is no...
