    New 2012 Heartland North Trail 21FBS

    I saw one of the cheap plastic wheel chocks get flattened this summer. We bought the wide style xchocks for ours because they're also supposed to help stabilize the camper so it doesn't shake as much. First hand experience told us not to rely on them for chocks (2' roll back/lucky no one was...

    Campfires

    We got chewed out for bringing our own wood to a campground 22 miles from our house. Wisconsin law is 25 miles. So............we packed up ours and bought wood from the campground. It had a brochure in it. The wood was packaged at a welding shop 40 miles from the campground.:rolleyes:

    Rear Bunk Ladder

    A Little Giant might work good for you. They are good and stable and could be extended to get on top of your rig if needed.

    Someone threw a fit about someone elses campfire and they were asked to leave? Must have been quite a scene.

    bumper pull out

    They are rated for 200 pounds. Camper friends put a receiver hitch on their pull out so they could use a bike rack with it pulled out. The whole bumper twisted. Can you haul it in the back of your truck?

    Heartland = Quality??

    After a little more thought I'd take Dan's advice. Don't take it till it's all right and passes your PDI. It may not be very easy to find another dealer that will take care of you. The campground may still give you a refund or credit you. If not that is a small price to pay.

    Heartland = Quality??

    Ditto on the 100 miles, on getting old and being expensive. I'd just make sure to do a complete PDI. It would be interesting to know what the deal is. Hope you get past this little snag and enjoy camping with your new camper. What kind of RV did you buy anyway?
  13. CliffP

    Heartland = Quality??

    If that's the case you're lucky to find out now. Make sure to do a good PDI so nothing else gets missed. You may have a hard time getting a dealer near you to work on it.

    Rear Bunk Ladder

    Our 2012 has the ladder where your rear cabinet is. Olyfire (I think) had a mod with a clothes bar and shelf behind the ladder. It's on the list.

    ATF: North Trail - NEED AC VENTS IN BATHROOM

    How's that working for you? It's been a busy summer. I'm planning to move the bigger duct to the bunkhouse and moving the smaller duct to the bathroom. Do you do anything to get more heat to the master bedroom?

    New North Trail, 30RKD

    Zach, Do you use jacks under the wheels? All we're doing now is using x chocks and running the stab jacks down again after things settle in. Its been a busy summer but we're going to try a couple of other things as time and money allow.

    new 32buds owner with problems

    When we use the microwave we switch the AC to fan only. Cool air keeps blowing for that short time and its easier than resetting breakers.

    Is anyone towing with a Honda Pilot?

    Hi Rick, Welcome to the forum and glad your Pilot tows your rig great! How much does your MPG weigh? Which hitch did you go with? We still have our 05 Pilot and that won't be changing any time soon. We need 4WD and its tough to find an SUV that gets decent mileage. What are you getting for...

    Awning Clamps

    I've seen awning clamps used with the electric awnings but I'm not sure how much faith I'd have in them. We put ours in when the wind picks up. We've been through awning damage with our last TT which had a manual awning. We'd just as soon not have to mess with this one.

    Length of Outdoor Shower Hose

    The hose on our North Trail was tangled. We were able to get to it from the inside after the dealer "untangled" it and loosened the fittings. It was much easier for me to fix from the inside.

    Wilderness owners - where are you???

    Re: Wilderness owners??? I think Erika and Tony hit it right on the head. This is pretty new line of TTs and there just aren't that many owners here yet. One thing that might help you find other Wilderness owners is to use the Tags box when you start a post. Type in Wilderness, your model#...

    Rear Bumper Mounted Propane Grill

    Our flames are also quite small with our RVQ. Are you able to light all 3 burners on your (inside) stove top at the same time? We can't and selling dealer claims that the pressure regulator needs to be replaced. That could be a reason the flames from the RVQ are so small.

    Trailer seems to be too low/scrapes the decline as we leave gas stations

    Yes, our springs are above the axles. We haven't seen any of the older North Trails with the other set up. Feeling lucky that is not an issue with ours. Calling to schedule a time to go through other things we need resolved since our original dealer didn't fix anything.

    Best sealer?

    I have to remove the cable connection from the back of our North Trail to replace a loose cable end. What is the best sealer or caulk to use? Where's a good place to pick it up? Thanks in advance!

    Can North Trail axles be moved to bottom of springs?

    Our springs are also above the axles and we've really had no problems with ground clearance.

    Added New Awning LEDs

    Looks great Richard/Kim and Jeff/Laurie! Are they mounted low enough to use with the awning stored too? We bought a set of the large (6) red, white, and blue globes but rarely use them because they are a pain to put up and take down. Our awning ends up being to high (I'm 6'1") to install without...
