    Where's all my water going?!

Last few trips where we were dry camping, seemed to be going through water really fast. Last trip I finally noticed a stream following us down the road, would make "splashes" at times, not just a steady stream. Unbolted much of the coroplast so I could see up by the tanks. On our Cyclone, that...

Where is security light switch on cyclone 3950 HD

On ceiling, rocker switch, pretty much when you walk in from the side door, right above you. Switch has interior and the rear loading lights on the same switch panel.

    Cyclone 4007 Electrical issues

Our rig's automatic transfer switch (box that switches between shore power and generator) was poorly installed resulting in a bad connection on one of the AC legs, only partial power for some things in the rig. Disassembly of that box was the only way to see/find the issue.

    Winter Use Tankless Water Heater

Have tankless, do not have the winter "kit" option on it. Have not done longer term sub zero temps with it without having the water off to the heater so it would not freeze. I would recommend against the tankless unit.

RV Industry Sales and Order Backlog

I've seen a small increase in dry camping, but only from experienced campers who are leaving the regular campgrounds because they are too full of the, as we say, "covid campers" (the new-to-market campers spurred by covid restrictions & stay-at-home $$). Campgrounds definitely packed now. Used...

Thanks, all better here now. Forum otherwise seems to be working fine, seems like a good transition to the new platform.

New Forum Platform - Xenforo, Report your bugs and feedback here

As of 3PM 5/31/21 this issue is happening for me (mac, Safari). Cursor pause long enough over an event thread and the page will load into a google map of the location, for me it's in the upper right corner of the window, about 1/4 of the page. I am getting previews of other threads when the...

    Onboard Generator Exhaust exit location

In process of installing an Onan 5500 into our Cyclone. Where does your exhaust pipe exit and do you wish it were in a different direction? If I run the pipe out the drivers side, it will be directly under our bedroom slide. Out the passenger side puts it close to where we sit under the awning...

Ramp Door failure: Anyone replace with MORryde Zero-Gravity Ramp Door

Please tell us more. Did your original door fail? How much work was done to fit the new one? Was Shipping a major cost factor (could save money by driving there to pick up?). Thanks in advance.

Ramp Door failure: Anyone replace with MORryde Zero-Gravity Ramp Door

While ours has not failed yet, I'm sure it will, since we've had about every other "common" item go that others have. We have sealed our door a few times with silicone around any possible intrusion points to try and prolong it's life. From the product lit page of the MORryde door: Soooo...

    2018 Cyclone 3611js

Your RV is not 240V, it's 120V. The 50A "RV" outlet is two 120V legs, not a 240V outlet.

    Tankless water heater.

Have one, my opinion and more details are in another thread. I would not recommend one if you are looking for equal performance to a traditional tank unit. Ours functions, but it is quirky.

    Heartland Cyclone Problems

Have 2011 3950. Fridge still works. Wonder if wall bubble was related to your fridge failure. Our water heater failed, but that was my winterization problem. Fuel pump quit. That was the swollen gears, an issue the manufacturer has admitted to. Sanding the gears solved it. Garage fan still...

    Flaking furniture

As is unfortunately too often the case, the sales people don't always know the products they are selling. We put the swivel chair/lounge from our Cyclone in our house for the kids to use as a gaming chair; put in a desk and office chair in the RV. The fabric completely separated on the chair...

    2016 F350 bounce issue

Pulled our Cyclone 3950 for 3 years with our 2016 F350 SRW, no bags/etc. No issues. 20" wheels, Michelin tires in stock size. No lift/leveling kit. That's 18K of trailer, but tri-axle. Tandem trailer could be different story. Ran bags on rear our 2012 GMC 2500HD which made that truck ride a...

Best way to increase fuel capacity

Replaced stock tank with aftermarket 50 gallon tank when our 2016 F350 was new. Was nice to work on something that was still clean underneath. Very happy with it. Did have to pay dealer to make changes to the DTE (Distance to Empty) calculation so it would more accurately show our remaining...

Announcement POSTS hogging first two pages

Had done that, but was not clearing out, including "mark all as read". Magically, next time I came back after starting this thread, they are gone, so big thanks to whomever fixed those. Also can't find those threads via search, so I'm presuming those threads/categories have been deleted -...

Announcement POSTS hogging first two pages

All of the announcement posts regarding "this [forum like ask the factory bighorn] is now closed" take up 2 pages every time I come to the forum. I hit the "new posts" link to show all new posts. The "announcement" posts now take up the first two pages. Can we remove those posts, ie make them...

Ford 6.7 DEF reductant heater increased warranty coverage

My 2016 F350 had this failure and was not covered. It was just shy of 80,000 miles at the time. I will probably replace this vehicle before Ford expands coverage to these newer model years, so it's just out of pocket (was about $1K).

    Ordering a replacement pullout floor

We made our own piece. When all was said and done, it would have been about the same as ordering from HL including freight.

Has anyone replaced the plywwod floors of the slide outs?

Have replaced the floor on our dining (big) slide. Not fun, not impossible. Made our own flooring locally. I think it would have been about the same cost to buy the one from the factory including shipping.

    Tire pressure monitoring system

Running the TST system with 507 flow through sensors for 6 years now. Happy with the system. Have a repeater, it was needed to get good reading on our rig. Information update is pretty fast, maybe not live, but within a few seconds when changes are happening (airing up tire, leaks, etc).

    Rim Leak

On third set of tires on our 2011 Cyclone (3 axle). The originals were shot within a few hundred miles; we put Carlisle on it and was very happy. Had one tire with a slow leak, needed 20# after about a week. Just put new tires on. Told tire guy to put new valve stem in that one; presumed it was...

    Cyclone 370C advice

Climb up and walk the roof. Look VERY close at any junction/seam, especially around skylights. Most likely the skylights have failed or are failing, look for cracks around the edge.

SOLVED: Replacement fuel station pump (repaired)

Re: Replacement fuel station pump An update. Removed the fuel pump, popped the cover off, removed the plastic pump gears and then sanded one side down as per other threads. Put it back together and it's been working since, which has been a couple months now. Nice that the pump did not need...

    New EZFlex and new tires

Worn out exflex would give it more slop room and make that easier to happen. My rig never has any of the tires off the ground.

    New EZFlex and new tires

Shackles were flipped in the picture as we were in the middle of repair. They have never flipped on their own. Took a little coaxing to get them all back to the correct position before we put the tires on.

    New EZFlex and new tires

The rubber pucks on our EZFlex system have been "shot" since we bought this rig (in 2012). The pucks were crushed, look like you squished a marshmallow between your fingers. Factory sent us replacement parts, but I was not in a hurry to change them since it is fairly involved and things were not...

    Furniture Peeling

I was just going to start a thread on this. Ours has been peeling for a while. As a tidbit: Our Cyclone came with a free-standing swivel rocker with foot stool. We put that in our house (in the finished basement) right away. Kids use it for a gaming chair. It peeled first, so it's not the...

Been a member but now new owner with lots of issues

WOW Every once in a great while you read about some major "can't believe it left the lot" stories. Take it back. It will be cheaper to rent a house for the time being. Or rent another RV. I really doubt that rig will _ever_ be right. Take it back. Get your money back. Talk to a rep and see if...

SOLVED: Replacement fuel station pump (repaired)

Re: Replacement fuel station pump Should have mentioned already doing the research here and elsewhere, but appreciate the insight. SOLVED: Replacement fuel station pump (repaired)

Looks like our fuel pump failed over the winter. Anyone know the model for replacement or "upgrade"? I've not tore ours out yet to see what's going on with it. Fuse is good, timer seems to be working, not verified power at the pump itself. 2011 3950 Cyclone.

Towing a cyclone 4000 with a short bed SRW

I pull our 3950 (41' triple axle) with our 2016 F350, SRW CC. Previously pulled it with our 2012 GMC 2500HD SRW CC. The GM, I put airbags on the back to help on the big bumps. The Ford is stock. We've done thousands of miles and it has towed comfortably. If you are inexperienced with towing...

    What's that smell?

Encountered a new smell on our Cyclone, still trying to figure out the source. Best to describe it as rotten potatoes (if you ever left a bag of taters in the garage in the summer...). Only smell it on the outside, primarily near the kitchen slide (about middle of the rig). It's on the dump...

    Aux Tank Recommendations

I put a Titan 50 gallon on my 2016 F350 and have been very happy with it, the OEM 26 gallon was a joke for towing. I also have a portable (plastic) 25 gallon tank with pump that fits in the bed under the cover. That's for diesel only though, not for gasoline. Empty I can move it by hand out of...
