    Slide not working...fixed

So I was going to post about an hour ago looking for help with what could be wrong with my slideout. Hit the switch and could hear the motor but the slide went nowhere. Decided instead to have the wife hit the switch while I poked around. I could see a shaft through the frame turning but...

Maine to DC (out around NYC)

Just got home last night. Lots of construction in I81. GPS said 10h15m, I figured 12hours, took 13+ to get there and just under 13 to get home.

I will take a look at that, thanks.

    leak?

Good input, thanks. I'll be checking everything that is caulked. Of course, it is pouring today. Not sure what the best thing to use is, I have a tube of silicone that I was planning to use at the lights but wondering if acrylic latex caulk would be better at the antenna...

    leak?

Just one leak, definitely was the marker light on the front, looking at it from the top, there was a clear gap. Planning on recaulking the rest before they become a problem its just that there are a lot of lights and I did not have enough daylight to do them all last night. Water system has...

Got the one taken care of last night, will try to get the other 13 or so done this weekend...

    leak?

Last weekend my wife showed me an area in the front of our unit where the wall is bubbling in seemingly random spots but only on one side. The only thing I can figure is that there is a leak and thinking about it, the most likely location I can come up with is the marker light on the top front...

Maine to DC (out around NYC)

Just wondering if anyone can fill me in on how hilly I84/I81 is. Planning a trip to DC and want no part of I95 through NY/NJ so was planning on I84 to Scranton then I81 to Harrisburg and either I83 to I695 around Baltimore or staying on I81 to Hagerstown then I70/270. Hoping the reduced stress...

    Husky Centerline TS WDH

OK, so it seems most of the traffic here deals with 5th wheel stuff but...my current hitch is just a husky round bar with no sway control. It has been fine on back roads and whatnot but we are planning a trip down to DC this summer and with a lot of highway between here and there, I want...

    Battery Hookup (pos/neg)

This is what I was thinking. Yeah, I don't plan on making this mistake again... Thanks for all the replies, heading out to make the connections (since I think today is the only nice day we will have this week). edit: OK, I probably should have looked more closely before I even asked, the...

    Battery Hookup (pos/neg)

Thanks. And now that I think about it, the tape is on the red, not the white.

    Battery Hookup (pos/neg)

OK, stupid question (but I hate electrical so I'm going to ask it anyway)... I do not remember which wire went to which terminal on the battery. Red and White wires, I would think red would be positive BUT there is a small piece of electrical tape around the white wire at the loop that goes on...

Tight steps on Trail Runner 26SLE

OK, so the steps have always been very tight. When I folded them up after winterizing it was far more of a chore than it should have been, in fact I am dreading folding them out. Is there any easy way to make them easier to operate?

Cherry Hill RV Park in College Park, Md

Good information, we are considering a trip either this summer or next. It will be our longest trip so far.

    winterizing questions...non plumbing related.

I am a long way away from that possibility...

    winterizing questions...non plumbing related.

OK, so what I'm hearing is not to worry about covering anything on the top of the unit. I am considering leaving the shore line connected so I will probably look into the electronic rodent repellers and will definitely be spreading a box of bounce dryer sheets around (even if they dont work...

    winterizing questions...non plumbing related.

OK, so we have had our new TT for a few weeks and while I would love to get out again this year, my son's sports schedule just is not going to allow it (soccer on saturdays, baseball on sundays). So, I'm looking toward winterizing. I plan on crawling underneath and sealing up any and all...

Looking at a Trail Runner 26 SLE

That is correct. My office is within sight of I295 and I am amazed at how many trucks pull trailers at 75-80mph.

Any Other Trail Runner Owners out there?

We just bought a 2013 Trail Runner 26SLE. Taking our maiden voyage this weekend. We are looking forward to the extra space over the popup we had. Hoping to get out a few more times this year although between soccer (games every saturday) and fall baseball (doubleheaders every sunday), it will...

Where's the Quality Control at the Factory

As a mechanical engineer (who designs HVAC and plumbing systems), I agree with your assessment. Beyond that, fewer hard 90's would also mean fewer joints. And where do leaks to occur (barring physical damage to the tubing)? At the joints. PEX-AL-PEX is good stuff and it will stay bent when...

a couple of odds and ends

I would think the owners manual for the heat pump should have information about operating conditions. I know that commercial heat pumps for buildings tend to lose capacity as it gets colder. A few companies have models now that operate at full capacity down to -5F but again, those are for...

    Plug in pest controllers

Not sure what we are going to do this year. In the past we have stored our popup in my father-in-law's barn (potato house really) on the upper level. All he uses it for is storage. We clean well and have spread bounce dryer sheets throughout. Never saw any evidence of mice but we also kept...

    Fuel $

I disagree to some extent. Speculators who drive up prices of futures based on events that in reality would have minimal effect on supply can have a significant impact on prices. The mere threat of an incident in the Straight of Hormuz sends prices skyward instantly even if no actual...

Looking at a Trail Runner 26 SLE

Our TV is a 2011 F150, the dealer installed and set up the WDH while we did the paperwork. Towing home went smoothly.

    Fuel $

That sounds about the range I expect to be limiting myself to (maybe NB too) except for the FL in the winter part. Of course, I have no idea what I will get for mileage but I'm expecting ~10.

    No dogs left unattended?

We take our boxer with us, she is very friendly and really is a big baby. We tried (once) putting her in the popup and leaving (really just going far enough to see what she would do) and she barked so we went back and did not try it again. Usually, when everyone heads to the pool or beach, I'm...

Looking at a Trail Runner 26 SLE

Well, actually, the wife went to look at it last night, now we are waiting for a call back to finalize the deal. I do find it a bit odd that they told us how much they would give us for our Viking popup sight unseen, hopefully they dont play any games. Hoping for all to go well since we have a...

    Fuel $

Price here in Maine varies pretty widely depending on the area. I dont know about diesel since I've got a gasser but the northern part of the state usually pays 20-30 cents a gallon more than the central southern parts. $3.87 here.
