I have a 2015 Landmark Ashland that has the generator prep for the Onan. Would love to do the same setup you did with your rig using the Champion generator. Is it possible for you to share what you did to make this conversion?
Very much appreciate your help.
Today I added a "Hatch Lift" to my front cargo door (where the batteries are located on our Ashland). Cost $80 but what a difference it makes not to have the door slamming on my head. Now I can actually use the area where the generator would be for some serious storage. Hatch Lift is a very good...
Very frustrated!
We bought our Ashland 2015 in December of 2014. I had health issues at the time and did my best to keep the unit warm and ready for 2015. I got better and we went to over 10,000 miles of trips to Disneyworld, Yellowstone, Arizona and California. We do truly love our RV. BUT...
We have a 2014 Ram 3500 with 31,654 miles on it. Have towed our 2015 Ashland over 9,000 miles. Did have issues with the tire pressure sensors (they replaced), the navigation went out (they replaced the radio with navigation) but we still love the truck. I drive it everyday to work and I never...
Re: 2015 key west
Ron has been more than helpful multiples for us and took a bad situation and turned it into a very good situation. So if you need to look him up the name is spelled Ron Scarberry. He is a top notch guy.
Just a word of advise. Never try and do this through the dealer. Call Heartland ASAP and have them explain it to the dealer. Better yet find a authorized (or get one authorized like we did) warranty repair facility and never go back to that dealer again.
We live in Santa Fe and do the balloon festival every year. The event brings in 200,000 people into a city that has 600,000 so it is is a zoo. The RV park is nice but being 9 miles from Balloon park is a LONG way when traffic is bumper to bumper. We love going but we also love going home at the...
I have a 2014 Ram 3500 dually and we have a Landmark Ashland at 42 ft and a hitch weight of 3320 lbs. The truck is perfectly level without airbags. I have now added the Timbren DR3500CA Suspension Enhancement System. They are NOT air bags but help take the load off the leaf springs when towing...
Winter Ready I think is a Oxymoron. Our dealer also told us we had the winterize package but no heated tanks and we ended up with frozen pipes and a broken water filter due to freezing and that is even with a heater in the basement. If you want to be safe and you do not live in your RV then get...
Great mileage. The only time I get 20 miles to the gallon is when I am driving down hill. The best average MPG I have ever gotten with my Ram is 14 MPG and I have 3.42 rear end.
The system sheds loads if it exceeds the total current of the circuit. A 50 amp service has two legs (L1 and L2) and each one is 50 amps. If you turn on all 3 ACs you will have 2 ACs on one leg and 1 AC on the other. If your microwave is on the circuit with the 1 AC then that is the AC that is...
What are you towing? The Aisin is more heavy duty but the 68RFE is a very proven tranny that has a very good track record. In the real world unless you are towing something really big you might not notice much difference.
We have not tried to live in our Ashland but plan on having family use it as a guest house during the winter. Last winter when we got the unit we had to put a small electric heater in the basement. Also I would open the panel between the basement and were the water lines are. Last winter, even...
I attached the wiring by loosening the underbelly screws and then tucked the wire into the underbelly. There were a few area were I just used a cable spot tie to attach it to the frame. The most important issue is to make sure the transmitter is near the front of the trailer so when you turn on...
Won't be the first time and I know for sure it will not be the last. There is a learning curve for the oven has many modes of cooking but after you figure it out it does all the work. I am sure she will love it. My wife does.
The Samsung we got has three racks depending on what you want to do. A low one, a middle one and a high one. Yes you can mainly do one thing at a time but the High Pointe had the same issue. Actually the High Pointe did not even come up to temperature without waiting all night. No oven is going...
I installed the Samsung MC17F808KDT Over-The-Range Convection Microwave. Yes I used the same wall mount so I did not have to dig into the wall at all. I did have to drill new holes in the top of the cabinet for power cord and mounting screws but they have a template that makes it easy. The...
Removed broken High Pointe microwave/convection oven and replaced with Samsung MC17F808KDT Over-The-Range Convection Microwave. Fit perfect and could even use the rear mounting bracket that the High Point was mounted on but did have to drill new holes for the power cord and mounting screws...
What training? I do not believe there is any training from any RV manufacturer. When I talked to the service people at my local dealer very few have been on the job more than three years and they all were trained by the last guy that had been there three years. The RV industry is growing and...
Most RV solar systems are 12 volts and are based on their battery bank. I would assume your system produces 12 volts so it can match your batteries. When you say volts I think you mean amps for that is what is needed to charge your batteries. A 500 watt panel produces an average of about 30...
I just figured this out myself when replacing the High Pointe oven with a Samsung. The vent opening is closed normally and you need to open it from the outside by just getting a ladder and with a small blade screwdriver pop the lower part of the flap out. It is hinged at the top. I found no...
In Las Cruces the Hacienda rv park is nice but is for mainly 55+ so not great for kids. If you want one for kids then the KOA is OK but not as nice as the Carlsbad KOA. Hacienda rv park is near the old part of town and has a lot of things to do within walking distance or a short drive.
Carlsbad KOA is pretty nice if you are looking for a RV park. It is very hot this time of year and there is not a lot of shade so be careful if you go hiking. We like to go there in fall when the weather cools off. Spring is way to windy.
We have the same issue in our Ashland. Also the opening for the shower door is not square so we have gaps when the doors are closed. Our procedure now is to have a towel on the floor to catch all the water that gets by the door and also use the same towel to dry out the tracks when done. It is a...
We took a trip to Yellowstone and everything seemed fine but we tried to cook dinner in our High Pointe Convection Microwave. We tried to cook some salmon balls that required 425 degrees. Cooked it for the required time and the salmon balls were still RAW. Cooked it for 30 minutes more and the...
I would look into adding a supplemental solar system so you do not have to pull the fuses. With the solar system you could charge a 50Ah battery from 50% to fully charged in 1.5 hours (depends on sunlight availability). At 33.3 percent duty cycle on the refrigerator (1/3 on and 2/3 off) you...
Totally agree with rotating the hot tire to the other side and see if the heat follows the tire or stays with the tire location. I monitor my tires on the road with a TPMS and because of the sun one side can be 10 degrees higher than the other but normalizes as the sun get higher in the sky.
We are in Yellowstone and tried to use the Highpointe to warm up some salmon balls using the convection part of the oven. Ran it at 425 degrees and after 30 minutes the food was still cold. Ran it for 15 more minutes and the glass in the door shattered from the heat. What a piece of junk.
Going...
Well it is now July 24 and we have over 6,500 miles on the Ashland. We have done trips to Disneyworld, Los Angeles, Arizona and now are packing for a Boy Scout trip with our two 13 year old boys to Yellowstone for a week. By then we will be over 8,000 miles and it has only been three months...
Having had the same slide fail two times before it finally got fix I cringe every time I push the button. Noise is friction and friction is stress so I agree with the others in using a lubricant in the high stress areas of the gears and reduce both noise and stress.
We bought our Ashland last December and now have over 6,400 miles on it and have gone to three coast lines. Gulf, Atlantic and Pacific. Had some startup issues but it is now a wonderful RV.
Thank God you have EMS and find another park or section till they fix their problem. I would assume that other RVers are having issues in your section and if they do not have EMS they could be causing damage to their RV appliances.
Just got back from our trip to California. When on a 30 amp hookup and both middle and upfront A/Cs are turned on and the EMS starts to shed things and then starts to un shed the second A/C the 12 volt fuse (position 17) blew. This is the same fuse that the bedroom and up front A/Cs thermostats...
Did you ever ask the question who out there is happy with their Heartland? I had issues but I am still very happy with my RV. If I made my decision for buying anything based on reading Forums I would never buy anything.
