Cheryl and I will be boondocking around Quartzsite from 1/13/2019 thru 1/31/2019. We will attend the meet and greet.
Dennis and Cheryl Wettstein
Wisconsin
Cheryl and I (Dennis) just signed up for the wisconsin rally. We will arrive on Thursday afternoon and will be leaving on Monday. We will be in site 45. See you all there.
Is there going to be a get together in Quartzsite in January 2018? We will be boondocking there and was wondering if there will be anyone there around the time the RV show will be going on?
My wife and I will be in New Mexico in October but would like to go home to Wisconsin in November. We will be coming back to New Mexico after Thanksgiving. Is there anyone that could help us out with keeping our Big Horn within about 100 miles of the Albuquerque. It would be great if 15 amp...
We will be in Arizona in January and we're wondering if there will be any gatherings in Arizona at that time. I saw there were quite a few in 2017 but nothing is listed for 2018
My hydralic slides make a squeal when extending and retracting them. I have put dry lube on the gears and that didn't help. Is there something I should be greasing?
Thanks all. I added fluid and changed the breaker. Landing gear went through 2 cycles with no problem. Have not worked the slides but I have a good feeling about it. Thanks again. Also tightened the connections on the pump.
The hydraulic pump kicks out when putting the slides in or out. Also when i retract the landing gear. Seems ok when I level up. Seems like a solenoid is kicks out. After I wait a minute it will work again. Lipport system. Any ideas what I could check?
This is not the first time she put it off. I am getting sick of having to continue to contact her on the same subject. All I always get is that she is sorry but that doesn't fix the problem. This has been going on since the rally last June. I just contacted her for the 11th time on this matter.
I have a Big Horn 3160 and love it despite some problems we have had with it. Nothing I could point at Heartland but one. All the problems we had were handled very well by all the vendors associated with Heartland. The only problem that we have with Heartland is that our bedroom slide was...
We had our 3160 weighed at the rally in Goshen and it was 14000 and some change. !/2 tank of water. Loaded with food, clothes, bikes on bike rack, solar, small washer, but, no generator electric theater seats or 8000 axles.
Thanks all. I purchased a Honda 2000 and it seems to work good. I have 4 Unisolar peel and stick panels that are 136 watts each and put out 46 volts each. I have two in series and the two pairs hooked in parallel to give me a max of 92 volts which I never see. Normally my voltage reads between...
Yes my rig is 12 Volts, but, I get up to around 80 volts in full sun, into my MPPT controller. I only want to use the generator when the sun isn't an option like cloudy days and when camping in almost full shade.
I have 544 W on the roof putting out about 80 Volts max. I am in northern Wisconsin at a beautiful National Forest campground and It rained all day yesterday and cloudy today. At best I am generating 20-40 volts from Solar. That seams to help maintain my batteries only using min lights (LED)...
Just changed my 4 130W 46 volt panels from running in parallel to 2 in series and then the 2 sets in parallel. Now I have 4 GC batteries, each is rated at 232 amps. I set my Magnum up for 460 amps. is this correct? Each set of btteries adds up to 12 volts with 232 amps. So two sets would be 460...
When I took the existing one off there was 1 screw into an aluminum support and one was just in the thin wall board. What I decided to do is ust the existing brace and the other screws I will use the plastic expanding wall anchors. thank you .
I have 4 Uni-Solar PVL-136 panels on the roof of my 5er. at full sun my Tristar Digital Meter reads 46 volts. I have the panels hooked to a MPPT controller in parallel. would I be better off having 2 sets of panels hooked in series to increase the voltage?
I did something stupid today and bent and broke the lower supports of my ladder. I need two aluminum posts that come from the camper to the ladder and one bracket that is screwed to the back. There is a part number on the bracket which is 508A. See the pictures. The plastic parts and screws are...
Ok, then why does the readout say PWM when I have a MPPT controller? Is it over charging my batteries? Shouldn't it read bulk, absorb, or float? The unit is in storage and I just installed 4 6 Volt Golf Cart batteries so I am somewhat worried. I went out today and it was in Float stage. I still...
I have read and reread the manual and have not found anything on what the battery status reading "PWM" state means. This state of charge reads out on my digital meter. Can anyone tell me what it means. Thanks.
I have all the other wiring done because I experimented with the 12 V battery that came with the unit. All I needed was a recommendation as to the size of the wire between the 4 batteries. I ended up using #2 wire and soldered on the connectors. I think this should work fine. The wire I have...
Its me again with more questions. I just purchased 4 golf cart batteries (232 Amps @20) What size battery cables do I need between them? I will be hooking two batteries in series to get the 12V and the 2 sets in Parallel to get 464 Amps. I think I have a wonderful system because of all the help...
First, I can't say thank you enough for all the info I have received through this forum. Now I have another question. I have installed a Morningstar TS-45 TriStar 45 Amp Charge controller in my fifth wheel. Uni-Solar PVL-136 PowerBond PVL 136 Watt 24 Volt panels on the roof. These panels...
I am writing this to warn any prospective customers NOT to get the optional folding dinette chairs. We have had 3 of them in about 6 months and they all broke. Two of them broke when we unfolded them for the first time and the third, the seat came off after being used twice. As far as I am...
Yes Dave it does seem that the door is hanging up on the jam but I don't see any rubbing. I was thinking of taking off the door and plugging the screw holes and remount the door.
The Bedroom door in my 3160EL does not close. I took it to the dealer and they fixed it but when I got it back home the door didn't close again. It seems to pinch in the frame and will not close or latch. This is a minor annoyance rather then a problem but any help as to how I could adjust it...
Don't buy without level up system. Best option we got. also get the reel for the power cord. That cord is big and heavy. As for generator we added solar to our 3160EL. Much quieter then running a generator. We carry a small 2000 Watt gen if we need it. don't use the air at all. Some places do...
I would like to add a ceiling fan in my 3160EL or a ceiling fan with a light. There is a place labeled ceiling fan on the control board but it is empty. Is this rig pre-wired for a ceiling fan or do you know where I could purchase a combination fan/light to replace the present kitchen light.
Peel and stick solar panels instaled
Thanks to all who answered my questions. I now have a working Solar system in my fifth wheel. The first two pictures are the top showing the peal and stick panels. There are (4) 136 watt panels. The next picture is the Controller. The next picture is the...
Here is what I installed on our Big Horn. http://www.amazon.com/Curt-Manufacturing-13703-Class-Receiver/dp/B0033WNJV4/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1411782316&sr=8-2&keywords=curt+rv+hitch
Here is a link to the curt bolt on hitch I installed on our Big Horn. http://www.amazon.com/Curt-Manufacturing-13703-Class-Receiver/dp/B0033WNJV4/ref=sr_sp-atf_title_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1411782316&sr=8-2&keywords=curt+rv+hitch
I think you have it correct. There are 2 wires from the existing Charger that go to the DC distribution Panel then go to the battery. I would like to use these same two wires to hook up to the DC side of the inverter/charger. I know the AC side can be the same wires it is the DC wires I am...
