    Re-cover and replace window coverings

I live in my Bighorn full time and I am sick of the "everything brown" interior. I want to recover the valances and replace or just remove the side curtains. We have Roller shades. Anyone removed the valances and recovered them? It looks complicated to remove them. Also want to paint the...

Splendide all in one vented 2100xc (not drying)

We have had the same problem; the clothes take longer and longer to dry. I got the same error code and using the instructions for cleaning solved the problem. I have to repeat it every couple of months as we use our machine for all our laundry so it's at least one load every day. Other than...

    Space under steps for shoes?

Sounds great Eric. Hubby wants to think about this before cutting something we can't replace. We did take out the drawer and take pictures of what is under the first step and it looks like it's just empty space. Can you post a picture of your completed project? Thanks so much.

    Space under steps for shoes?

I really don't want a drawer. What I want is to open the front so that I have an open space to put one or two pairs of shoes out of the way when we come into the RV. We don't wear our shoes inside and right now we just kick them off under the dining room chairs.

    Space under steps for shoes?

Has anyone converted the space under the bottom step (going up to the bedroom) for storage or for a shoe cubby? The second step has a drawer and the first step is just empty space. We really need a place to put our shoes when we come inside. I can't see any reason why we couldn't do...

Dimmer for LED lights in my Bighorn

I would like to install dimmers on the LED lights in the slide that are over the dining room table and also on the ceiling in the bedroom. We have found dimmers but have not been able to find any information on whether the bulbs that are installed are dimmable. Has anyone installed dimmers...

    New Big Horn 3575EL

You're right. They use the same enclosure on all the models and some of them have the shower head at the other end. Ours is "backwards" with the bench under the shower head. It's not a big deal.

By (Popular?) Demand - Our Ownership Story

Re: By (Popular?) Demand - Our Ownership Story [Updated Defect List] Your experience is horrible xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx We we have had our share of issues with our Bighorn but not anything near the extent you have. I've noticed a lot of shoddy workmanship but most is easily dealt with. We did...

Things I would change about my Bighorn

Jim, that's great. I don't suppose you would care to write up a "how to" for those of us who aren't quite as talented as you. I would love to have the kitchen overhead and hanging fixture switches on the pantry wall.

    "Storm" door for screen door

My husband did the same install. He went to Lowes and bought the Lexan. Had it cut to width, cut the radius with his Dremel tool and press fitted it into the groove. We initially tinted it with do it yourself window tint but it made the inside too dark (it's too dark already and this made it...

    Moveable Kitchen Island Ideas

Beautiful cabinetry work on your island. I love the color...is it painted or stained? Did you get rid of your dining table since you now have the bar extension? Carol

Things I would change about my Bighorn

We do have the honey glazed cabinets but that doesn't make difference. Our previous 5th wheel had walnut cabinets but not the tinted windows and it was much lighter inside. Also, we too have the dining room light switch right next to the table on the wall but it is the light over the sink and...

Things I would change about my Bighorn

We live full-time in our 2015 Bighorn and for the most part I am very happy with it. There are, a few things that bother me; in order of how much they bother me: 1. It is so dark inside. With the tinted automotive windows, the dark carpet and flooring and our dark furniture, it is dark all...

How to remove AC duct covers in the ceiling

This is probably a dumb question but I need to remove the AC register covers (round covers with vent fins) in the ceiling and can't figure out how to get them off without breaking them. Some genius at the factory left pieces of styrofoam in the duct work nd it is blocking the airflow out of two...

Replace lights over the dining table.

We have two flush mounted LED lights over our dining room table and I'd like to replace them with a pair of pendant lights. Has anyone done this and if so what fixture did you use and what was involved in installing them?

    Dents in our vinyl flooring

After only a week of living in our Bighorn we noticed dents in the flooring from using one of the dining chairs at the end of the table, and the feet of the chair apparently dented the flooring. I'm disappointed that the flooring can be so easily damaged. Our solution is to put a throw rug...

Bathroom door swing in 3570 5th Wheel

I agree that with the pocket door in the bedroom to give access to the bathroom. the door in the hall should open toward the bedroom. We rarely use that door; we just go into the bedroom and then into the bathroom through the pocket door. It's not a big deal for us but it makes no sense in...

    Lighting suggestions for the 3570

I would suggest that the designers of the BH add a light in the laundry closet. I realize this might present a problem with a ceiling fixture with stackables in place but the closet is really dark. We added an LED strip light kit from Ikea to the ceiling of the closet and it works great. We...

    Big Horn 3750RL

We have the same model you are considering. We are currently campground hosts at Emigrant Springs Oregon State Park. There are quite a few spaces here that will accommodate a 38ft RV. However, you do have to be careful due to the overhang of large trees...we lost our dryer vent cover backing...

3570RS Owners...how do you use the cabinet next to the dresser?

I am looking for ideas for how to best use the space in the narrow but tall bottom cabinet next the the dresser drawers in the bedroom. We are living in our BH full-time so storage space is a big deal. I haven't figured out how to utilize this cabinet. It does have a shelf but the space is...

Where to stash a toaster oven when traveling

WOW; lots of great responses. Thanks so much. I bought two plastic bins to put the oven and Keurig in and will set them on the couch. I will try the shelf liner underneath when I get up the nerve. It's hard to believe they won't bounce around. We we are leaving in a couple hours for our...

Where to stash a toaster oven when traveling

I have a Breville countertop toaster oven that I want to use when traveling. It fits perfectly on my counter to the left of the stove but I am wondering how to store it when we travel. I also have a Keurig on the counter and have the same issue. We've been parked for a month but are getting...

    Residential Refrigerator mini mod

This isn't really a mod but I wanted to share how I organized my side-by-side residential refrigerator. If you have one, you know the shelves are narrow and deep and it's hard to get to items in the back. I purchased various sized clear refrigerator/freezer bins from Bed Bath and Beyond...

    70" x 80" King Mattress

Erika, I just ordered a foam mattress from Brentwood on Amazon. It is 13" with a 7" base of dense foam and several "comfort" layers of gel infused memory foam and a wool blend cover. I had a similar mattress in the sticks and bricks and it was extremely comfortable. It was from Dreamfoam (13"...

    Cabinet light

After a week of living in the RV I became frustrated with having to turn on the entry light whenever I wanted to see the controls for the lights which are hidden behind the entry cabinet. We also hang our keys there and it's too dark to see which set I want. Solution: I put up a battery...

    Noisy Microwave (Highpoint) fan

We've only used our Highpoint microwave a couple of times. The exhaust fan is very noisy; not just the noise of air moving but a rattling noise that is loud and annoying. Any suggestions? The microwave oven itself seems to work fine, it'a the vent fan that is noisy. I am not familiar with...

    Garbage Disposal

While browising RV listings I saw that the new Mobile Suites have a garbage disposal as an option. WOW...that would be fantastic since we will soon be living in our Bighorn full-time. We are planning to add the new Splendid dishwasher and would love to have a garbage disposal too. I'm...

    Built in end tables

Well the end tables are history but there sure were a lot more than 2 screws in each one. We ended up with a whole bunch of holes to repair. I've contacted customer service about ordering seam tape but haven't heard back yet...hope they let me know next week. Despite the holes it was worth...

    Single bowl kitchen sink

Thanks Dave and Gary. Unfortunately our drawer is only 18" wide so even trimming down the stiles (which we'd certainly be happy to do) won't work. John said he would take a look at the cabinet so see if he can get the current sink out and have room to put a new one in. I haven't been able to...

    Dishwasher in 3570 RS

Has anyone added a dishwasher to your 3570? We would LOVE to put in either a Splendid or Fisher & Pyckel but they are both are 22-24" wide and the drawer bank to the right of the sink is 20". I know the newest rendition of the 3570 has an optional dishwasher. Anyone know what kind it is and...

    Single bowl kitchen sink

    Installed Induction Cooktop in 3010RE

    Built in end tables

Has anyone tried to remove the built in end tables that are in the rear bay of some Bighorns? If you were able to remove them, how did you do it and did the wall look OK afterward or was it obvious you had removed them? I would like to put an 84" sofa in the rear but I only have 80" between...
