All of the side walls on my slide outs have water damage. The damage is caused by a construction defect. The skids were put on the bottom of the slide and the side walls were put on the outside of the skids. This allowed water to wick up through the wood on the side walls. The metal trim...
Update. I was under the camper to start repairs. and found that the black tank had completely fallen through the mounts. Its sitting on top of the grey tank. It looks like the supports were put in the wrong location. (to far apart.) I now have to rebuild the plumbing on the tanks, re mount...
I got an update on more info regarding tanks. I talked with the manufacturer of the tanks, in my camper they were made by Atlas. They told me that they tell the companies who use them that they need to be supported underneath. If not they will stretch and deform and eventually crack. The RV...
My black tank was leaking from where the rubber gasket is supposed to be. They cut the tank holes to big for the gasket to be tight so it leaks. They probably did the same on the grey tank. Mine is now leaking if I ever over flow the tank. My other issue is that the tank is sagging...
Thank you very much, My closet on my 2018 39MB is completely different, I have a window between the closet and the dresser, and the closet is up against the side wall. The shelf in mine is straight back with the hanging rod underneath. The door on the closet is a single door that opens...
You and I have the same camper, some questions.
What ge dryer did you get?
I'm thinking of putting the washer on a sliding shelf that pulls out when I do laundry, with the dryer above.
What about power, I only have one 15 amp socket in the laundry closet.
I'm looking at a similar setup, I was wondering if the cloths come out of the washer fairly dry, the reviews say that the clothes come out soak and wet.
Just found mine peeling, and it is one month over a year old. only get sat on about twice a week........:( I'm thinking of putting a futton in its place with storage bins underneath. What do you think?
Shopping for a grill and noticed a lot of electric grills for indoor and outdoor use. Has anyone thought of using an electric grill outdoors for cooking instead of gas? Most of them are easy clean up and you can add flavor by adding wood chips if you like. I even found some that have...
I hate government sites......they suck.
Here's what you can do. Open the web site, take a screen shot of the site or use a snipping tool. Now you can take your time looking at the spots. Pick your spot, re-log in and reserve it....Good luck. The Strand can get very busy and noisy, not my...
Changing the axles and tires may change your suspension and tires load capacity, but you also need to think about your weight balance. What is the maximum capacity of the garage on your toy hauler? This is what you don't want to go over as it may create major safety issues while towing.
I talked to Lippert about this and they told me that the sofa will come apart and can be removed. I designed a Murphy bed with a built in desk. The desk will fold down with a single bed. The bed has a filler to make it long enough for a full size adult.
Good luck
The output temperature of an RV heater is between 140-170*, much lower than what would cause cardboard to burn, but it will dry out over time. If you are really concerned about it, you can wrap it with aluminum foil tape instead of using metal.
Now that it has gotten cold, I found out that the heater was really poor at heating the trailer. The bathroom was the hottest room in the camper (cooking) the front bedroom was the next hottest and the mid bunk room got some but was cold and the living room got nothing....... The factory rep...
Sorry this is late, I got called out to work on hurricane Florence up in NC.
Here's the update and repair that was done on my camper.
First thing you should check is that the insullation in your slide is good. Mine was missing on the ceiling on half of the slide which was letting a lot of...
Really wanted to go, this would have been my first rally. **** Hurricane Florence and Michael really messed that up for my so I can only look at pics while I help people out trying to get their homes dried out and cleaned up......Have fun!;)
I'm working up in NC on hurricane repairs right now. If I ha e time on Sunday, I'll post the repairs.
Check the inside slide roof in the mid-bunk room and compar it to make sure it's about the same temperature as your other slides. Let me know, because you may have to repair that as well...
Mine has been fixed with adequate flow to the mid-bunk room. Heartland is in the process of testing it on a unit at this time, I talked to them last Thursday and will do a,follow up tomorrow or Tuesday. The repair is not that complicated and I'm hoping they come out with a kit. The total cost...
You still have your factory warranty, the dealer cannot have you sign that away, and they are still required to honor it and do the repairs, it's in their contract with Heartland.....I would send Heartland a bill for your time and costs to fo the repairs along with pics of what you found.
Same with mine
Shower drain not connected, flooded basement
Kitchen sink drain and scupper not tight, caught that on inspection
Black tank to toilet missing flange, not connected, bad odors.
And a whole lot more.
I was just looking at your water pump system and noticed something that you could do that would help your flow. You are using a T connector instead of a Y connector. The T connectors have a lot of restriction to flow and a Y connector would reduce restriction substantially.
Just saw your post, I'm full timing in a mid bunk model and these units have issues.
The two biggest issues are construction quality, but some of this may be resolved with Heartlands new PDI program to find issues. On my unit its been the what next syndrome but they are slowly getting...
I know that this is model specific but this issue could be in other units, so I posted it here.
I have a mid bunk Big Horn Traveler 2018 model and have been having many issues, the list is very long and they are slowly getting dealt with but it is becoming very tiring. This is the latest...
I'm almost done with the modification and have figured out a simple way to do it. The ceiling duct was changed from the original plans, and my unit did not match them. I extended the living room duct near the door to the corner of the wall (from the inside so that I wouldn't have to drop the...
WOW!
Mine does this every morning and every evening.......It feels like someone hit the camper. I get about ten pops in the morning and ten in the evening........One person told me it was the roof, it feels more like the jacks.......So my guess is the fluid in the hydraulic system is...
This is not normal. The flange is glued to the top of the tank and the pipe is glued to the flange. The tanks are designed to be leak proof except for the vent. I went through this on my black tank as it had the same issue. Contact heartland, this is a dangerous situation that can cause...
ot
Not really.
The factory duct was never tied into the factory ducting in the ceiling. I pulled the wall in the loft area between the bathroom and loft and found that the tie in was never drilled through the ceiling. I drilled it out only to find out that the ceiling ducting did not line up...
If you put your finger on top.of the metal piece where the pin is on top of the door, you'll feel a slot. Slide the lever out, lift door.slightly and push the wheels with pin out of the slot, then repeat other side.
What type of washer and dryer did you get? I would prefer a top.loading...
Does anyone know how to remove the closet doors from the track. It looks like it has clips that you rotate out, but nothing seems to happen. I have a new door to replace the damaged that came with the trailer and I can't figure out how to pull it and I don't want to pull the track assembly...
Some recommendations for the mid-bunk model.
The AC vent in the mid-bunk room, if it works ( mine didn't and was repaired) is practically worthless, no airflow. You should move the vent to the wall behind the entry door with a 4" duct to increase air flow.
Add a shelf under the bathroom...
I have a suggestion. Is it possible to have an events calendar that shows all of the events for the year. People could add events to it and it would be very easy to see what's happening and make plans to attend.
Maybe have links for more information, or to forum discussions.
