Sue Jean,
What did you guys end up doing about the rotting. Just discovered my fix of years ago has failed and I need to get radical with the repair.
FJ
That is exactly what happened to my doors. Can you take a picture of what you did at the top of your compartment doors? Heartland made good on the doors over a year ago and I am now just getting the chance to replace them.
Thanks,
FJ
So, I researched all the past threads and now have some serious questions to poll you folks on:
I need to replace my two basement doors. Do I use Proflex or Sikaflex 505 UV for my outside caulk? Do I use butyl tape on the inside edges of the doors as I install them? I also need to replace my...
It is nice to hear that maybe not that service is in their new building they are starting to do the right thing by customers. My original impression with Heartland's Service, when John was still there, was very good. Our unit should have never made it to the plant with the extensive frame...
My daughter and I towed the RV out to Elkhart on December 14th, arriving around 10 PM. We met the most helpful security guard in the world, who was able to give us the history of Heartland AND tell us the best place to park the unit. He explained that the staff usually starts arriving between 5...
The new mirrors on the post September GMC/Chevys are heated, have the LED turn signal facing rear (same as current mirrors), have the front LED as a marker, and have white LED backup lights that shine down the outside of the truck body. The Duramax forum has a number of postings about changing...
Bill, thank you for your input and advice. I am pleased to say that the factory has been helpful and will pay for the repairs as long as I get it to them. I am going to give it a try anyway. Have to wait till December.
I sent Heartland the pictures and VIN via email this morning. We will see what Monday morning brings. The trailer made it back from Maine so I will be willing to risk it out to Elkhart unless they have someone nearby that is competent to make the repairs - I am not hopeful they do.
Just after we purchased our 2009 3950 I saw posts on this forum discussing cracks and failure of the Lippert frame in the area of the pin box. I was mortified and constantly checked for potential issues with our unit. All was well until this summer. After arriving in Maine with the camper I...
I am again rebuilding my landing gear after a 2nd failure and the result of not releasing the stabilizer bars on the DS. The parts for the rebuild at at http://www.myrvpartsplace.com Part numbers VM999-00 and VM999-01 are the kit for my rebuild and cost $50.00 each plus shipping. The...
I run with a deflector on the roof of my truck. The advantage has been a 1, and sometimes 2 MPG, advantage over going without. However I find the that the most important advantage has been that the truck and trailer "track" through the wind and are more stable while driving. The deflector...
The repairs are made. I have to tell you, laying on top of my generator was the pits. Bill was absolutely right, the small wrist pin that holds the top gear in place sheared. Without our generator in place I probably could have had the repair done in an hour or so. Climbing in and out of the...
Good Afternoon Gentlemen and Ladies,
I now join the members who have had Lippert/Venture landing gear issues. The door side gear turns and works. The drivers side slips in and out without grabbing the motor. Ideas while I am on my way to the Lippert drawings?
Lee,
I am speechless. I have never seen something like this occur and will have nightmares until I check my floor again! Thank you for sharing. To quote my kids...OMG...WTF?!
Red,
If you look back at some of my posts and others you will see that we have all had the same problem and response from Heartland. I was actually surprised to hear that they offered to fix your floor. I would have driven out there the next day if it was me. They had no interest in fixing mine...
My little truck does just fine with our Cyclone and my Sunnybrook 391KSURV before that. Our Sunnybrook was an upper end toyhauler. Dovetail drawers on the cabinets and real wood on the interior trim were the "little" things that you miss after they are gone. Don't get me wrong, I like the...
OK Heartland, I have kicked the tires on other brands, repaired my Cyclone 3950 by myself, but still want another Heartland. Either I need an increase in my medication or you need to build me something.
I want a Landmark Toy Hauler. Put together a well appointed toy hauler, with a touch of...
Tow/Haul when ever the 3950 is on the 5th wheel hitch or the excavator is sitting on the equipment trailer being towed off the rear. Original (maintained) transmission still does it's thing the right way.
Lk,
You are correct about the forum, the group of owners who are here, and the factory at least tuning in. If the slides were the only manufacturing defect I might be more supportive, but this has not been the case (as evidenced by prior posts). As I told Terry in the parts department Friday...
Anyone interested in purchasing a 2009 Cyclone 3950? The repairs have been made to my slides, by me, with no assistance from Heartland, but greatly guided by the members of this forum. I am shopping for a different unit and while I will look at a 2011 Cyclone, I am not sure I trust Heartland...
When the side wall fiberglass sheet of a slide are cut about 1/2" above the termination point of the flooring, and that flooring is plywood, decay is inevitable. I tried to keep up and keep an eye on the problem. Made notice of the problem prior to my warranty expiring (contested by HL) and was...
We are exactly in your seat on this one. Check our posting that started in Sept. 2009 regarding delamination of the slide floors. Parkland Plastics warrant the flooring material for 2 years and specifically advise to contact the manufacturer. I contacted Chris Griffin from customer service and...
REVISITED: Slide Floor De-lamination
OK, so back in 2009 I did exactly what Heartland directed me to do. I contacted the Plastics company that supplies the floor and they sent me a can of this really nice glue/plastic coating to apply to the edges of the floor. I cleaned the substance that was...
So here is the information on the Cyclone LED tail lights. Cost is about $22.00 each from the manufacturer. Thier webpage address is: http://www.commandelectronics.com/led-tail-lights.html I am attaching the spec sheet as well. I am starting to loose the rest of the lights in the fixture...
So, here is what holds the walls in place. These staples go into the interior framing that is attached to the main side walls. I had a long talk with Chris from customer service yesterday. There is not a lot they are willing to do in the way of warranty (nothing), but the guidance on the fix...
I tried contacting Command Electronic's customer service via email to see if they would give us a break on the taillights since we all seem to have the same problem. So far, no answer. The quick fix is to purchase new ones and replace what we have. The better fix is to find another manufacturer...
This is the problem that I encountered and have posted pictures on the thread I started: "Interior walls pulling apart" or something like that. I emailed and spoke with Heartland and was told that they have never heard of this happening and that without going to a dealer there is nothing they...
I just posted a simular post regarding the inside of the door and the mounts for the shocks that hold the doors up on the ODS. So far Heartland has been unresponsive. I can't beleave that we are having this conversation with relatively new units.
By delaminating do you mean that the interior paneling is pulling away from the walls? Like the staples and maybe glue that held it in place is pulling off and the wall just flops back and forth?
Thanks,
FJ
I think they are too heavy to be foam core. They are some kind of particle board/composite I think. We just made the 24th payment today, so we definitely are out of warranty. I am dealing with Heartland on the interior walls coming unstapled already. Just going to add this to the list.
