Hi everyone,
Been great on this forum, and great news is we are trading our 19 foot edge for a used 30 foot trailer. We originally bought our trailer for travel, but vehicle and work schedules aren't co-operating with that idea. We went seasonal this year and we discovered that the edge just...
I hope so too - they should take care of that bubble on the back - if it didn't adhere properly I would hope they would come good for it. We pay good money for our rigs and whether a Big horn or the smallest of trailers. I would hope for the best level of service that I have heard of here in the...
That is a good analogy, I was going to say some similar. The example I was going to use is when you buy a newly built house, and the AC unit goes south - who gets can solve the problem the builder or the Refrigeration company.
Sorry your have had such bad luck with yours. I have a 2009 model M18 and have only had a few minor issues. We had water inside the RV once but the rain was really hard from a weird angle (one of those sideways winds). It hasn't happened since. I do have similar issues as you mentioned with the...
Thanks for the replies. They did here it running. Not sure if steady or intermittent. Hopefully the seals are as said. I'll have to put some water through it in a couple weeks when I get out again to know for sure
Hi everyone,
So we loaned our trailer to father and mother-in-law. I walked him thru the trailer and all that had to be done - he took notes. Anyway it was forgotten that the pump should NOT be turned on with water hooked up. So the pump ran dry for at least 12 maybe 24 hours.
Are the seals...
I just use a good quality wax spring and fall and use 303 aerospace protectant on the roof and seals. I have never heard of a cover other than for winter storage.
It may have been that the voltage level was not appropriate for the fridge. It has a voltage monitor built in and if too low will flip over. You wouldn't notice it because at 95 volts many things will still work but the fridge wouldn't like that voltage and switch over to a more suitable source.
are you talking about the paneling itself separating or the finish on the paneling? Could you post some pictures. The only thing i have noticed is my bathroom by the sink the wall has slightly shifted out and the paneling finish separated a bit in one spot. I an not that concerned about min its...
We have the M18 as well. You can find the bypass Valves in the front storage area there is a panel that covers the back of the water heater with 4 screws. You have to turn 3 valve to winterize. 1 that enters the HW tank. 1 that leaves the HW tank and one in the middle between them.
Thanks for the feedback! It looks like a 3 year warranty on this so I will call my dealer tomorrow about having them check it out or get me a replacement part that I can swap.
Hi Everyone,
Having one of our first issues after a year with our M18. Our toilet is slowly leaking the rinse/flush water into the bowl and it is filling the bowl within an hour or two. We have a regulator for pressure and the system pressure seems normal. Any idea if this is a DIY fixor a...
I have crawled on mine with success (M18) dealership told me it was ok. I felt it give a bit like collapsing foam so I used a couple 18 x 18 3/8 plywood pieces to spread the weight over a wider area.
if you unlatch the window from the inside then go out side and watch from the side of the strut when you slowly open the window you can see the latch catch. Not practical for operation but it is useful to better understand how it works.
it is also likely also a high pressure firepit. The quick disconnect is low pressure. You can double regulate if the first reg is a certain amount higher than the second, but not likely in your case.
Hey Stan I was just thinking - I recently had to install a warranty replacement blind. It might be safer and easier to remove all but one screw from each side at the top blind section (when the blind is extended most of the way down). Then loosen the other top screws slightly. While holding the...
I had the blind come out of the track once . I fixed it by gently pushing out the about 10 inches from where it crossed the track. Then gently guided it in. If its kinked in the track you could use something like a Popsicle stick and gently guide it while pushing on the shade portion until it...
Ours didn't come with one and I was going to buy a plastic one - but after your post I think I now might look into having a local machine shop build me a similar one out of stainless steel.
Gillbiss,
We only used the AC once last year (really crappy summer last year). That time was in a thunderstorm with 8 people crowded in and 2 dogs. So it really didn't keep up - but no surprising with that much heat load in the trailer.
You could do something similar to what I did. But the...
OK finally removed that 100 lb bunk that was not meeting our needs and made a full size bunk.
Supports around windows will later be covered with something prettier:confused:, the 2 inch angle iron is since painted white. The bunk sections due to budget constraints (just paid for our seasonal...
I had the same issue with the bunk and didn't notice the 100 lb sticker till after we bought it (my bad). In a rush I did a bunk mod from 2 x 3 lumber and 1/2 ply. I plan on covering the supports with something more aesthetically pleasing and the front section with carpet. I made 2 - 18 inch...
That is for an optional Heat strip that can be installed in the AC unit. It does not come with one by default. Check and see if your local RV dealer can order it in. Otherwise it can be ordered through the manufacturer. Personally I use a micro furnace ceramic heater (much quieter)
I had the same problem I use ay winterizing air adapter plug to stop the water. I have heard too much issue with check valves. For as often as I use the pump I can plug the hole.
We didn't use our shower at all until this past fall when it got colder. We normally just use shower facilities at the campgrounds we visit. This fall when I didn't want to go from the warm shower out into the cold I started using the shower in the trailer and didn't find it too bad. It is tight...
We have the M18 and love it. Only issues we have had.
-Upperbunk weight limit is not realistic so we are going to redesign that when we take it out of storage.
-Upper bunk cupboard doors swing open and hit people below when some one on top bunk - easy fix with a 2 dollar latch.
-Caulking...
Hi Jim,
I am happy that your treatments have been going so well. It sounds like you have a nice support group around you and that can make a huge difference. I pray that things get better and better for you.
Rick
In that case you might want to investigate having a transmission cooler installed. With our Montana I am less worried about the engine than the tranny. That is often the weak Link
We are pulling the M18 with a Pontiac Montana - with a 3500 lb towing capacity I know we are pushing the weight limit and we can really feel it. We are planning to buy a 4x4 canyon king cab next spring. I wouldn't advise you to tow the m18 with your current vehicle. Trade in for a 4x4 Sporttrac...
Coming home from work spotted and Edge Not sure of model but bigger than an M18 (what I have). To be honest I don't know what was towing it  . I was to busy trying to figure out the model. Turned from Ontario St onto CH Meir /Douro intersection
