Slide Topper

We bought a 2010 Heartland North Trail and we have one slide. In researching I believe we should add on a slide topper and Dometic is the one to get. Which one is the best? Deluxe, Elite, Full Topper? Also how do you measure for the size? Is it better to have a professional do it?

Slide toppers are a very good thing. If you park under trees or get rainy days and/or hot sun, you will appreciate them. Some owners have installed their own, but I think it depends on your level of handiness. I had them installed on my four slides by the dealer as part of the purchase. It's not a one man job, so I'd explore getting a quote from your dealer. They will get the correct size for the slide.

On Dometic's web page there are instructions for measuring the slide for toppers. I like the Elite topper because it has the aluminum wrap when it is rolled up. It is a neat looking topper. That's what I got.
